I am currently gainfully employed, doing well financially, and I have plans that I am working towards and doing in my life (starting up a site and such). This post is really just for information and future reference more than anything.
I have both a skilled trade (currently apprenticing) and a University degree.
I currently live in Canada, and I know that I already qualify to work abroad on a youth visa in many European countries.
But because I also am an apprentice and have a degree, that should qualify me to immigrate permanently or atleast work in other countries no?
Say for example you are an electrician, plumber, master pipefitter, steamfitter, gasfitter, are you able to work in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Philippines, Thailand, or Yemen? Ive never been to the Middle East or Asia and it'd be a dream to one day work and live there, say 3 or 4 years in the future. Id love to work in one of these places and is it possible with my education and trade? Also, do I have to wait until I am a master (suppose a master or "journey" pipefitter) at my trade or would they take apprentices too? Are there any countries in particular demand for skilled trades? Who should I contact about this? Are there any websites or guys here who have worked abroad with a skilled trade?
Please help, Canada sucks. No, just joking, its great here but Id love to live and work outside for a couple years. I figure with my degree and trade I should qualify. I have researched this topic online but it is surprisingly hard to find info. It is skilled labour and I've heard of other guys doing it. Has anyone done it or knows someone who has?
Just for future reference, not planning on doing this anytime soon. Plus it will take me another 2 years before I am a "master" tradesman.
