According to various sources in both Ukrainian and Panamanian press, reigning WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno (24-1-1, 8 KOs) of Panama will travel to Germany for the second time in his life to defend his title against its former owner Wladimir Sidorenko (21-1-2, 7 KOs) of Ukraine. The fight is scheduled to take place on May 2 in Bremen. Moreno acquired his belt with an upset unanimous decision over local favorite Sidorenko last May, also in Germany. He has retained his title twice since then, outpointing Filipino Rolly Lunas and Mexican Cecilio Santos. According to Moreno's representative Robero Grimaldo, the champion has already started his preparation for the upcoming challenge in the gym. He will come to Germany not later than April 26th, confirmed Grimaldo

Interim WBA super flyweight champion Nonito Donaire (24-1, 16 KOs) will fight against former WBA bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko (22-2-2, 7 KOs) on December 4th in Anaheim, California. Sidorenko has confirmed the fight. "I'm now home in Sivastopol, Ukraine,"Â he said. "For me, it's a big fight. I'm very happy to fight against Nonito. I assure you it will be a magnificent fight for millions of boxing fans. Donaire a great champion, is a fighter I wanted to fight for a long time. I want the fans in the USA to know about me. In two weeks I'll depart to Los Angeles to my trainer Freddie Roach and we will begin preparation for this fight!"Â

This will be a difficult fight for Sidorenko, for Donaire is the best Filipino boxer outside Pacquiao. The only chance for Sidorenko to win is to clearly outbox Donaire which is unlikely. Donaire destroyed rugged Darchinyan in 5 rounds, so I can't see Sidorenko winning this one.

This fight is on Saturday and now it's the main event due to Chavez withdrawing.
With Roach training Pacquiao for his fight, Khan for his in a week or two's time and Chavez for this weekend also, it seems like an awful lot of work for him and there may have been not much time to focus on Sidorenko. Roach had to leave for a week or so to be at the Margarito fight too of course.
