We have come to the part of boxing i really like,
when all the big names have been beaten my the top fighter,
and a lot of B level fighters can get a chance at a world title and make some good money.
the Klitschko's now will start fighting three or more times a year
because they don't have to work as hard to get ready,
and a lot of the lower level fighters will fight their hearts out,
and not quit or duck them..........

Hay, Soils has just packed his bags and headed back to Germany,

we may be seeing Waldimir vs Soils at the end of this year!

Solis is another obese black fighter in the Sam Peter mold. He is slow, has some power, and is very technically lost in fights. There are better European fighters such as Boystov, Helenius, and Platov for the brothers to face. I'd even like to see one of the K brothers vs. Dimitrenko.

I don't think Povetkin is scared of Wladimir. He has wanted to fight him for the longest. Then when he got Atlas to be his trainer things changed. We all heard Atlas saying during the Klitschko-Peter fight that he felt Povetkin wasn't ready for this fight. With Povetkin's amateur background he couldn't be more ready. It's now or never.

AP is probably the 3rd best HW right now. IMO he'll never be able to beat either Klit unless they start slipping (Teddy Atlas is waiting/hoping for this IMO) because of age or lack of motivation. AP isn't young enough to wait/hope for a Klit to slip so he may as well take the fight, there's NO shame in losing to an All-Time great HW Champion. AP is a few years younger than Wlad/Vitali so when Wlad/Vitali retire AP will have an excellent chance to become a Champion and maybe the best HW.

I think it had something to do with HBO backing off the fight,
it would have been a big loss of money for the two fighters.........

Exactly. Adamek even alluded to that in his interview.

I don't think Povetkin would win a single second of a single round against either Klitcko. And he knows it. There isn't a heavy out there, black or white, who can touch them. They have both persevered and absolutley mastered their craft.

I think he could win a round or two. He's very experienced. Anyway, I think the last fighter to win a few rounds against Wladimir was Tony Thompson.

I believe Povetkn would do very good again't Waldimir, he would be the first young easteuro fighter Wald has faced,
all we have seen is the Klitschko's feeding on negros an a not that young Chagaev.
I think we will be shocked at just how well the other euorpean's would
do again't them! Thats why HBO wanted to brake up Klitschko vs Povetkin IMO....... Edited by: lost

Remember Wladimir fought Sultan Ibragimov as well. Ibragimov was 33 at the time, not exactly young but not too old for a heavyweight either. Ibragimov won a few rounds against Wladimir and did better than any fighter the Wladimir has faced in years.

I agree.

Sultan Ibragimov, who is probably the most underrated heavyweight of the past decade, did much better than Thompson. I don't remember Thompson clearly winning any rounds, although most of the first six or seven were fairly close. But Thompson slowed down from the accumulation of Wlad's harder punches, and was barely surviving in the 9th and 10th rounds.

Then in the 11th, Thompson was KOed - he was actually COUNTED OUT by Joe Cortez.

Ibragimov didn't slow down in the later rounds, and he survived the distance.

I forgot about Ibragimov!
but that's still just two,
we need more easteuro's vs easteuros fights at heavyweight.

Is Ibragimov retired or what? I know after the Klitschko fight he supposedly retired but there was talk that he would fight again.

One article I read online had Valuev saying that Vitali picked Briggs over him as a title defense because it's an easier fight. That's a crock of sh*t. Valuev never wanted to fight either brother. Why didn't the idiot take a rematch with Haye?

Valuev sold his title to Haye, so he can't take it back! he fought easy with Holyfield,
and that did a lot to hurt the image of today's heavyweight division..

To be fair Valuev should have lost his title to Holyfield. I lost respect for Valuev that fight because he did nothing. He's better than that. I thought he fought well in the Haye fight and won by at least two rounds. Valuev wouldn't have been champ if the judges didn't rob Holyfield. I'd much rather see Holyfield be champ than big mouth Haye.
