Here is a top ten list of the european women in the 100 meters. The Ukrainian Women are so talented. I expect one or two of them to dip under the magical 11 second mark. I hope to see Verena Sailer, Lalova and a few others also make a run at their personal bests.

Ivet Lalova came very close to dipping under 11 seconds. She is the only one on this watch list to do it before. Her lifetime p.b. is 10.77!

A year ago Ivet Lalova, of Bulgaria, was storming to 100m gold at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and she was back in first place on Thursday night as she triumphed in 11.04.

It was a season's best time and while the victory was narrow, Murielle Ahoure, of the Ivory Coast was second in 11.05, and Ukraine's Mariya Ryemyen was third in 11.07, it was a fine triumph for Lalova whose straining facial expressions show how much she puts into the event.

Dafne Schippers sprints 11.10 seconds today for a new personal best. This is a huge break through for this heptathelete who is now more focused on the short sprints which I think is a good choice.

Dafne Schippers took advantage of a meeting on Saturday in Nivelles (Belgium), to run the 100 meters in 11.10 seconds wind legal. She missed a new womens 100 meters national record by only two hundredths of a second. This girl is so talented. Hoping for a really great womens 100 meters final in Moscow.
