I know this is a subjective question, but I'm curious on your thoughts..
I would instinctively say Jesus Christ, but I'm not sure he was in Western Civ; He was more of an external, Middle Eastern influence. Martin Luther & Constantine would probably be more profound Christian influences within the West.
For me, Columbus is probably still @ the top, because of the way he singularly broadened the borders of the West, and it's cultural influence.. & the truth is, he believed he was an evangelizer himself.
