Who are fastest white people ever?

I watched Shirvo's great 10.03 (-0.3 I think) in 1998 and would say that's
the best performance by a white for 100m. And he was still 19 at the
time.
It could easily have been 9.90s low with a helpful legal wind.

I tend to disregard the Bryzgin time as the eastern Europeans never did
their best times on a world stage. Ditto Woronin and others. There are
two Ukranians who ran 10.02 and 10.03 the same day, supposedly legal,
in their national championships. Couldn't do it with the eyes of the world
on them though

As an avid Australian Shirvington fan (it was he who encouraged me to
become a masters athlete and win some titles) I must still say that he was
beaten 1 1/2 metres by Ato Boldon who was in lifetime best form. It was
commonly agreed at the time that Ato's run, with no particular assistance
from the prevailing conditions that night (sea level, humid, slightly neg
wind), ran possibly the best 100 to date.
For anyone willing to concur with that assessment, it put Shirvo 1.5%
down

Shirvo was amazing. If only he would have had better form. I belive if his form would have been fixed early on, he would have ran in the 9.95 range multiple times. He had so much power and an explosive start. I just don't think he was very smooth. It takes so much wasted energy if your form is not right. I'm not saying he was horrible with his form but he was average at best. Even that might be a stretch.

Look at a guy like Christian Blum. Very young, very raw, very skinny, but damn does he make it look easy. If he can combine the power eventually while keeping that form, the sky is the limit. He will in my opinion threaten a sub 10 by next summer at the latest.Edited by: white lightning

Blum and Bayer have that very fluid form to their running. Maybe it's a German thing.

I agree Shrivington was hands down the best white 100 meter runner. Soooo much power!!! Same with Cerutti right now; the start is just so powerful.

Germans traditionally have been the best Euro sprinters from the century up to the quarter. It's only within the last 20 years or so that they have been weak in the sprints. Even then they have produced finalists against obviously drugged American athletes.

Germans probably dominated sprinting because of their large population. I don't think they are the fastest white people, because many European countries have produced great sprinters. I do think their style of sprinting is very smooth though, and Blum and Bayer make running fast look so fluid and easy.

Cerutti, Pickering, Lemaitre, and Blum are just among a new breed of white sprinters just waiting to break new ground. The next 8 years will be very exciting.

coincidentally the same period that
1.the Brits and French have nurtured their black sprinters and
2.doping has been jumped on. The east German men outran the west German men for decades even though they were in a four to one minority population-wise.
