Don't know much about the guy, but his name does come up as one of the best white US sprinters in the past 50 years.
I met a man who ran the one hundred for the U.S.A. in the Olimpics during 60's or 70's. I believe he finished 8th he later went on to set a masters world record that still stands in the 100. If any one know who he is I would like to know because I forgot his name.
The picture of Newman beating Hayes was on Ebay briefly.It shows Newman winning by an elbow.I didn't care about the small write-up on the race though as it went on to say that Newman got a rolling head start.Figures.As far as the white sprinter Tornado is looking for Dave Sime was the only white U.S.sprinter in the time frame mentioned to run the 100m in the Olympics.Larry Questad ran the 200 in 1968 and Jerry Bright was and alternate and Mark Lutz also ran the 200 in 1972.A fellow by the name of Fred Kuller is a masters guy.
