During the first month of 2008, there were four title fights involving white boxers, plus an important heavyweight eliminator.

White boxers have won all five:

Malignaggi
Sidorenko
Molitor
Chagaev
Povetkin

Very good start to 2008!

I hope this success continues. Kelly Pavlik will hopefully beat Jermain Taylor and I want the racist Hopkins to lose in the worst way.

Don't think for a minute white boxers around the world are not aware of the trasformation in the sport. Whites are more emboldened and confident every time one of them spits out the dust of the myths created during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Conversely, black confidence is slipping like someone sliding down a mud-soaked hill.

Maple Leaf hopefully the drunk white fans will sober up and follow the white fighters lead and stop buying NFL tickets and force the white owners to give white skill players a chance to play. I think the white fighters of Europe never bought into the emasculating of white men done here in America.

I believe once blks are unquestionably marginalized in boxing they will panic and further devulge into anti social behavior and be around burden to us, but more so.

It makes me feel good to read stuff like this. I`m in my 30s, so Igrew up withfew white role models in sports who didn`t play the caste positions that they were supposed to relegated to and, with boxing, therewas scarcely a white boxer that I could really cheer for for years. (Ray Mancini was one of them.)

Seven is considered a lucky number. Well, we`ve had five big fights so far this year won by white fighters, soI`m looking forward to wins by Pavlik and Calzaghe in the coming months.

This weekend young Andy Lee will fight in Ireland, and age 42 Corrie Sanders will be fighting a negro opponent in South Africa.

The next big fights involving white boxers will be Valuev vs. Lyakhovich and Pavlik vs. Taylor II on Feb 16.

On February 23 we'll have Sultan vs. Wlad, and on the 29th Bute vs. Joppy.

My view on what you have stated is that these are two different sports and one may not influence the other. If I may explain it this way:

White boxing fans have never left the sport. By and large white boxing fans have always supported white fighters. Boxing fans take a loss personally, and racially! Promoters have always known this and this is why a good black/white punch-up is always a best seller. Even during the dry days of the 80's, white fans supported Cooney. I love a good black/white fight as much as I like a cold, dripping bottle of beer on a hot July day. Black fans support their own, and so do Latinos; Orientals support Chris John and Manny Pacquiao: why would they not? These are perfectly natural instincts.

I cannot understand how a white man can cheer for a black boxer during a black/white fight. There is something dislikable about such a man. Like some kind of a jealous traitor.

The NFL is a different sport. Contrary to what is commonly believed, the NFL's following is waning. Ratings on televison continue to slowly decline. The annual ratings prove this as fact. And those ratings are not my facts, they are just facts. Whites are slowly losing interest in football for the same reasons they have almost abandoned basketball: too many blacks change the culture of the sport. But whites could own every belt out there and the NFL would just ignore it as they see fit. The middle aged white fans who buy the tickets are not a boxing fans, and all they know are Ali, Tyson, Roy Jones Jr. -in that order!

But all of this success is ours and forever to boast and brag about; and now the wall has been broken down and the soldiers are all over the town and a new white flag is flying where once a black scull and bones once flew...

The NFL set ratings and attendance records this year.

Maple Leaf is a canadian, telling lies about american football, in a boxing forum.

He should stick to deluding himself that any americans watched the NHL all-star game.

Nevada are u at this crap again. You really need to grow up and stop attacking everyone. You come across as a black man in disguise who goes only so far that he will not be banned off this site. Mapleleaf has some good comments and I enjoy his posts. There is no reason for you to take shots at everyone.

I believe Maskeav also fights Peter this weekend. Let's hope that Oleg can pull it out. He is fighting a very hard punching fighter. Let's keep the ball rolling guys. I can't wait for Wlad to attain another one of the belts. He may go down as the greatest heavyweight of all time when all is said and done.

Well, February was another good month for white boxers. The biggest fight between a white and black boxer was won by Kelly Pavlik over Jermain Taylor.

The two most important heavyweight fights, Valuev vs. Lyakhovich and Wladimir vs. Ibragimov, were white vs. white and both fights had a clear winner. And in a white vs. black title fight, Bute vs. Joppy, the white guy won every round and then stopped his opponent.

Lots of interesting fights involving white fighters in March: Maskaev, Katsidis, Maccarinelli, and Abraham will be in title fights, while Kraj, Inkin, and Froch will be in eliminators. Young up-and-comers Lee and Abell will be in action as well.

Of the first four that you have mentioned here, I think the Maskaev and Maccarinelli fights are the most important. The Maskaev fight will be big in the U.S. and the bell is already tolling in Big Ben for the Maccarelli fight. Of those two fights, I think it is more important that Maccarinelli wins. Maskaev is on his way out anyway and I would love to see a Klitschko knock out Peter. But Maccarinelli is a star on the rise and the audacious Haye fans need a good kick in the pants. I have read some ridiculous claims about Haye recently, the most memorable being Haye is the hardest puncher on the planet.

And the great thing is that most of these fights will be televised. Obviously, the Maskaev, Macca, and Katsidis fights will be televised. The Inkin-Froch fight will be on Showtime on March 29. British prospect John Murray will be on the card, as well. Thanks, Showtime! I can't ever remember them having so many Europeans on one of their broadcasts. Andy Lee will be on ESPN2 on March 21, and Tye Fields will be on Versus on March 13.

As for Rudolf Kraj, his eliminator with Matt Godfrey is very interesting. Two of the top Cruiser prospects with very decorated amateur careers. Kraj was an Olympic Silver medalist, and Godfrey had 190+ wins and 20+ losses and won a bunch of tournaments. And, of course, one is white and one is black.

Froch-Inkin has been postponed, so that card, including Murray, won't be on Showtime on the 29th. I was looking forward to seeing three European fighters on TV rather than Youtube, for a change. Dang!

The month of March hasn't been a good one so far, but we still have Joey Abell fighting on Thursday Mar 27 in Sweden, and Arthur Abraham defending his title on Saturday in Germany.

Talented Irish prospect Paul McCloskey will be fighting on Saturday as well.

Dam, I am holding my breath for April. Please Joe put a W up!

Woods-Tarver and Adamek-Bell are pretty big fights, too! Diaconu is in a must win fight to stay in title contention, and Dzinziruk and Erdei will be defending their belts.Edited by: JD074

The last major fight for a white boxer in March was a KO win for Arthur Abraham in an exciting fight. Not a bad way to finish the month!

Some of the best white boxers are scheduled to fight in April:

- Steve Molitor defends his IBF super bantamweight title against his mandatory Fernando Beltran on Apr 5 (televised on TSN in Canada). Also on that date, Felix Sturm defends his WBA middleweight title in Germany against an Australian challenger, Jamie Pittman.

- Joey Abell is scheduled to fight again on both April 11 and 26.

- Oleg Platov is scheduled for April 12 against TBA, on the same card as the young cruiserweight Marco Huck. The main event is a matchup of two excellent white super middleweights, Sebastian Sylvester and former world titleholder Javier Castillejo.

- Clinton Woods also fights on Apr 12, defending his IBF light heavyweight title in Florida against Antonio Tarver (televised on Showtime).

- Joe Calzaghe fights Hopkins on April 19 (televised on HBO), and Adrian Diaconu fights for a WBC interim light heavyweight title on that date against an young, undefeated black fighter, Chris Henry. Former world titleholder Tomas Adamek faces Jamaican O'Neil Bell on this date as well.

- Denis Boytsov, with perhaps his toughest test to date, fights on Apr 26 against veteran Robert Hawkins (who went the distance with Sam Peter and David Tua a few years ago, and defeated Dominick Guinn and Terry Smith in 2007). On the same Universum card: Sergiy Dzinziruk will defend his WBO light middleweight title against a white opponent, Lukas Konecny, and Zsolt Erdei will defend his WBO light heavyweight title against a black opponent, DeAndrey Abron.

It should be an interesting month!

We lost another title last night, with Antonio Tarver's win over an unimpressive Clinton Woods.

We're down from 16 now to 12 of the 20 titles from middleweight to heavyweight:

HW: 3 of 4
CW: 0 of 4
LH: 1 of 3 (one vacant because of Green's retirement)
SM: 4 of 4
MW: 4 of 4

But there may be a chance of regaining some of those before the year is over.

Hey I am just hoping that Joe wins against Hopkins. I just hope he doesn't get careless like Hatton or Katidisis who had victory within reach but got caught by left hooks. This guy Woods never impresses me, he just doesn't have that fire in him to beat fighters like a semi washed up Tarver.

Again I hope Joe stops the bleeding in a big way by beating Hopkins. It is becoming almost crucial for him to win to turn back this recent tide of black victories.

Kuku, Calzaghe doesn't do careless, trust me. This is why I truly believe that everyone on this forum will have a brilliant night on the 19th.

Absolutely horendous last few fights. I really didn't expect Tarver to beat Woods. I hear Kessler is possibly moving up to light heavyweight to fight for the vacant title. I sure hope he does. He has the skills and firepower to do some damage in that division and that is were we need help along with cruiserweight. I am hoping Adamek can become a force in the cruiserweight division.

Adamek will be facing O'Neill Bell in a very big match for him on April 19. I think I read that this fight will be shown live on ESPN Classic!

This will be the biggest fight of Adamek's career IMO. If he wins this one, he will have fully recovered from his loss to Dawson.
