White athlete locker room cancers

Have there ever been any? Or is it unique to Blacks?

(I put this on HH as it is not specific to a sport necessarily.)

The late columnist, Dick Young, who was about as conservative as in any sportswriter in my lifetime, said that Dave Kingman was a bad influence on a team. Kingman was a power hitter who played on various teams from 1971-1986. He was known for hitting a lot of home runs while striking out a lot.

Maybe Bill Romanowski with all his roid rage haha, but to my knowledge most white players cannot afford to be prima donnas.

Romanowski wasn't a locker room cancer. He was a very emotional player who didn't take any s-it from anyone. Because he's white his black teammates wouldn't even show him any support. He was called a racist for spitting in J.J Stokes face. I suspect Stokes made a racist comment about Bill or was mocking him during the game.

Precisely. Whites can't afford to be be too small, too slow (any 40 time is too slow if you're white), too big at RB (or they'd be a fullback), or too tall (or they'd be a tight end). Even white owners (the ones that aren't devout Zionists) can't make any wise cracks about black quarterbacks without being disqualified.

And yet, if you are black you can be on your death bed during the draft, forget your cleats at the combines, not show up to the combine, be a drug addict, run a 4.7 40, have no hands, be 5'7", and be arrested 10 times and still go in the first round. All in the name of athleticism.

I wish I could cheer for John Riggins. That's all I ask. In fact, I never would've woke up if I could've drank some beer and cheered on a white guy like the DWFs do blacks.

I think most white athletes with bad attitudes get weeded out quickly, whereas black players can get away with a lot more. Different standards. I think Jeff Kent was hated by his teammates. Ryan Leaf maybe. That kicker from the Cots, mike vanderjagt, was an idiot...calling out Peyton Manning.
 
Why the hate for Dave Kingman? He was never a locker room "cancer"!!!! He hated reporters, that's true but he never was any problem with his teammates. You might have the mistaken notion that he was a cancer because reporters didn't like him but not his teammates. He was a guy that hunted and fished, a country boy that got along with the other country boys. Kingman was one of my favorite players of the era, a one-dimensional power hitter that hit moon shots without the help of steroids. If the steroid era hadn't come along he would be remembered as one of the premier power hitters of his era.
 
In pro "wrasslin", I've heard (former WCW & WWE) star Marc "Buff" Bagwell was a locker room cancer. However, I personally know Marc & he's nice, approachable fella (if he's not drinkin'), so I suspect the rumor on him (like the Dave Kingman one) is unfounded.

I didn't say I "hated" Dave Kingman. The question was a whether a white athlete had ever had a reputation for being bad in the locker room. I reported that Kingman had this kind of reputation. I have no personal knowledge one way or another, nor did I claim to.
 
Mark Grace was often accused of being a locker room cancer and a bad influence for young players, particularly Kerry Wood, during his tenure as a Chicago Cub. Rafael Palmeiro (depending on your definition of White) was definitely a locker room cancer who slept with other teammates wives.
