Very informative BD. In my book a good amateur background adds cred to a fighter's resume.

Thanks for the info WA33. I couldn't figure out who Parody was before. I don't get the name though. Actually I didn't get JD 1986 either.

I am looking forward to Jason Litzau next fight. I hope he has learned form his recent losses and fights tall and uses his boxing skills. I hope he has something left in the tank. We'll see.

Might be time to take Chapman off the list. Hasn't fought since Feb. 2008 and seems to have retired.

Jesse Lubash will face Martinus Clay 13-23-4(5) this Friday. Clay isn't a world beater but he owns a win over Matt Vanda who at the time was 34-1. Clay also held world rated Harry Joe Yorgey to a draw.

Joey "Polish Thunder" Dawejko turned pro. He won a decision over Royphy Solieau. His next fight is scheduled for Feb 5.

Twenty two year old Jeremiah Graziano is still unbeaten at 9-0 with 9 knockouts. With 8 of his 9 knockouts coming in the first round. No fight scheduled as of now.

Don George fought once since my last update. In November he became the first man to stop Jason Naugler. He will face Afflete Phil Williams 11-2(10) on Jan 29.

Heavyweight Mike Wilson extended his record to 4-0 with 3 knockouts.

Mark "TNT" Tucker defended his USBO belt once since my last post. He has a fight scheuduled on April 23. No opponent yet.

Joey Spina had a majority draw with former champ Lou Del Valle. Dissapointing result. He likely isn't going anywhere.

Jesse Brinkley will face Curtis Stevens on Friday Night Fights on Jan 29. Last I read the bout was an IBF eliminator.

Matt Remillard will rematch Rafael Lora on Jan 29.

Peter Manfredo Jr will face Matt Vanda for the vacant NABF Middleweight title on Jan 29.

Travis Kauffman will face Bernard Brown 6-5-2(3) on Feb 27. It will be his first fight back since losing to Tony Grano.

Brian Minto will face Damon Reed 45-13(32) on March 6.

Danny O'Connor will face Darelle Sukerow 14-15-1(5) this Friday in Boston.

From Fightnews

In an IBF eliminator for the number two ranking in the super middleweight division, Jesse Brinkley (35-5, 23 KOs) scored a gutsy twelve round unanimous decision over Curtis "Showtime"Â￾ Stevens (21-3, 15 KOs) on Friday night at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Stevens, who had promised an early KO, set the tone by landing some good left hooks in round one. Brinkley, a participant in the The Contender I reality television show, weathered the storm, however, and proceeded to break down Stevens. Stevens finally wilted under the Brinkley barrage and went down at the end of round six. The big-punching Stevens looked to score a KO as the bout progressed, but Brinkley scored another knockdown in the twelfth to win going away by scores of 117-109, 118-108, 119-107.

"The Pride of Providence"Â￾ Peter Manfredo Jr. (34-6, 18 KOs) captured the vacant NABF Middleweight title with a strong ten round decision over Matt "The Predator"Â￾ Vanda (42-10, 22 KOs). Scores of the bout were 100-89 twice and 99-90. Manfredo Jr. worked over the body and came up with uppercuts throughout as Vanda did not have an answer to the punishment he was receiving. Vanda was knocked down late in round six from a hard body shot from Manfredo Jr. He continued to chase him after that as he tried but failed to put him away. Overall a great performance from Manfredo Jr. as he kept Vanda out of the fight throughout. The fight card was promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions.

Don George stopped Phil Williams in three. George improves to 19-0-1(17)

What a great performance by Brinkley!

Teddy Atlas seemed unhappy after Stevens hit the canvas - it sounded like he was about to cry.

Stevens was one of the overrated "Chin Checkers" who turned pro under Lou Dibella and were knocking out tomato cans and getting a lot hype. He has lost the three times he has stepped up from losing club fighters to winning club fighters/ fringe contenders.

I believe Brinkley's victory puts him on a path to face Lucian Bute at some point. This would make him the first white American to fight for a title at supermiddleweight or above in quite awhile, I believe.

I watched that fight last night (too), and Brinkley showed some stones. He took the fight to overrated "afrolete" Stevens!
