Which white guy will you be following?

I'll be curious to see how Rudy Fernandez performs in Portland. If anyone watched this years olympic basketball final you would have seen how well he excelled playing against top black American atheletes. He's a SG with a great 3 point shot and great athletic ability. He even dunked on Dwight Howard, which was easily the dunk of the tournament.


Another player I'll be curious to watch is Joe Alexander for the Bucks. He's 6'8, a little undersized for the power forward position, but he has some freakish athleticism. You guys need to youtube him to witness his amazingrim racking ability. He seems a little raw and needs more time to develop but he could turn out to be a really good player if he ever gets the chance play.

Im with you on this, Alexander and fernandez are two players Im realy exited about. Fernandez and Roy should be a realy exiting back court hopefuly portland will play with a three guard backcourt so Rudy can get on the floor.

My favorite player to watch will be nasty Nash till he hangs it up. Although Fernandez, and Alexander are high flyin beasts.

Dirk Nowitzki is the one I follow most in the NBA. But I also play close attention to Nash, AK47, Hinrich, Ginobli,Nocioni,Okur,Turkoglu, Miller and Gasol and of course the new rookie crop coming in. I am also hoping that Adam Morrison stays healthy and has a breakout year and that JJ Reddick finally gets a chance.

I'll definitely be following David Lee of the Knicks. He's expected to flourish in Mike D'Antoni's fast break offense. Lee is an example of a white player who the media has to describe as "athletic" because he's a dunking machine with no outside game. Isiah Thomas limited Lee's minutes despite his incredible shooting percentage and rebounds per minute stats. If he gets 35-40 minutes per game, he can be an all-star.

Icsept every media source i see compliments Lee but than throws his name out there as trade bait? Why in the world would the Knicks want to trade away (arguably)their most consistent player last year?? Guess he's not that valuable.

I always follow and root for the Mavs basically because of Nowitzki also coming from NC I follow Adam Morrison and Matt Carroll of the Charlotte Bobcats but seeing how Larry Brown is the coach they'll be riding the bench for as long as he's there

Not to bring up any negative memories, but I remain fascinated by the potential of ....wait for it.... Darko Milicic. In terms of pure athleticism, Milicic remains a source of as yet untapped potential. With considerable reservations, I'm predicting a breakout season.


Jeff Foster of Indiana is another unheralded NBA player who is a pleasure to watch perform.

Nash is my favorite player in the league, by far. i'm a short, white, point guard who can't jump so i have a special place in my heart for them.

i grew up trying to play like John Stockton.

other guys i really enjoy watching, in addition to those mentioned above, are Manu Ginobili and Andres Nocioni. both guys, aside from being incredibly gifted athletes, simply love the game and play SO hard. for me, it is a joy to watch players like that. and these days they are a very rare breed.

JJ redick Is supposed to be in a sixth man role i expect him to have a break out year.

I absolutely love JJ Redick. I watched alot of his games when he played for Duke and he was phenomenal. The knock on him is "surprise surprise" he's not athletic enough to score in the NBA like he did in college. He's a decent athlete and with his shooting ability he can score. My favorite player is AK 47. Unlike most whites the media actually praises him for his athleticism.

I remember watching a game where the announcer said that if anyone in the league can get a quadruple double it's him.

I saw Darko throughout his career, such as it was, in Detroit. To invest any hope in him every producing consistently is an exercise in futility.

Darko is proof that athleticism and "raw talent" doesn't necessarily translate into being a good basketball player.

while i'll always pull for him, so far he's unfortunately not taken the necessary steps to be a legitimate player in the NBA.

Yeah, but Kevin Love has still been an efficient scorer because he's getting to the line a lot; And bottom line Joe Alexander needs to play more to find his grove.

Galinari's been hurt and Alexander doesn't get minutes. Love has been productive in the limited minutes he's given.Mayo, Rose and Beasley are examples of how Black players are given an instant green light to fire up shots with impunity. Particularly on losing teams. White players are expected to be efficient or specialists.

David Lee has flourished since the Zach Randolph trade, averaging 20.8 ppg and 16 rebs in 40 minutes. Even so, there is talk of giving Jared Jeffries some of his minutes.

Very true about white players expected to be efficient scorers and specialists. Especially white rookies; they don't get the green light from their teammates to chuck up shots!

These 3 I have mentioned all deserve to be ALL-STARS this 2008-09 season.

I'll be darned if Yi Jianlian becomes an All-Star.

Steve Nash is in danger of being left out, despite being a 2-time NBA MVP.

Dirk Nowitzki is at least a sure lock for the All-Stars.

Troy Murphy and Andrew Bogut deserve ALL-Star considerations also.

i will be following Orlando's Marcin Gortat, being Polish and all!

in his second start filling in for injured Dwight Howard, he scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds and 2 blocks!

On hoopshype.com, Gortat gets some positive comments. He is labeled as a "good dunker" and "athletic." That's something we don't hear every day.

Same here. He has the Kwame Brown syndrome. Unbelievable raw talent, but no idea how to use it. When he worked out for the Pistons, his quickness drill times were actually better than any of the Piston players, even the guards. Rip Hamilton saw the workout and said, "I wish we could suit him up right now." Such a waste.

The guy I'm watching is Andris Biedrins, the center from Golden State. He is so quick around the basket and takes up a lot of space. His footwork and moves remind me of a young Shaq (minus 100 lbs or so). He's averaging 15 points, 12 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. And he's only 22! There's a reason Joe Dumars was willing to trade Billups for him earlier this year. He will be a perenial All Star.

19 and 21 points in his last two games, that's 5 of the last 6 in double digits.

Keep it up Marco!

Andries Biedrins continues to shine himself, able to score at least 15 points and grab 12 rebounds consistently so far this season.

He and Marco are only 22 years old!

DIRK NOWITZKI continues his torrid scoring pace, 26.5 points a game!
He is on pace to have 2,000 points for the season.

STEVE NASH is about to have 7,000 career assists.

Pau Gasol and Big Z should have 10,000 career points anytime this season.
PEJA STOJAKOVIC will reach the 1,500 3FGM mark anytime this season.
