I'm curious as to the religious make up of CF posters. It's a private matter for sure, so feel free to vote without explanation. If I left yours out and you'd like to share, post it here instead.

Thanks to all who participate.

I'm Baptist. I am a very strong beliver in God and Jesus. I've always been curious as to some of the members here. On a side note, I still love to drink beer like everyone else. Lol.

I voted Evangelical. I have very strong beliefs in God and Jesus as well. I'm very traditional in my Christian beliefs. A lot of this stuff being passed off as Christianity today is most definately not according to the Bible.Edited by: Sean

I'd always thought of Baptist as falling under the umbrella of 'evangelical' myself, as it seems like evangelical is today synonymous with 'conservative Christian.'

I would agree with that Shogun, and as such, I put myself under evangelical.

Was born Catholic, my wife pleaded with me to convert for the wedding. Since my wife is half Serb Half Greek she is orthodox. Me, caring nothing for the minute differences between the various sects did the honors for her and became orthodox. I must say, the orthodox are much more into helping their own (other white Europeans) than the Catholics were. I am by no means bashing the catholics, my mother, (who I love with all my heart)my father, and most other family members are catholics, but when thinking back to the little bit of charity work I did while a young catholic, it seemed to me that it was all about Africa this and Africa that.Edited by: aussieaussie31

Catholic--though the church has been in complete disarray for the last 50 years---don't know when the great restoration will come--still hoping.

I don't think the fictional Soloman Kane was fond of Catholics.

The Catholic Church has gradually been taken over by liberals with respect to abortion and the like. The Catholic Church still nominally holds to pro-life, moral conservatism often, but its members vote otherwise. I'd look at the pact between Frances Perkins and Al Smith to trace it. Plus, it's gradually going to get taken over by NAU advocates.

I'm open to switching for moral reasons.

You're right--Solomon Kane was a Puritan--though none of the stories have an anti-catholic aspect. Most are set in Africa, and involve Kane fighting against and sometimes protecting (against even worse enemies) black pagans. They are about as poltically incorrect as they can be. Howard himself had a lot of white pride--a true old school Texan.

I hope the new movie is true to Howard's vision--but it already appears thst it isn't.

Freedom, you're basically right, most catholics are losing their faith and moral sense, even if they remain within the church in the social/structural sense.

The sacraments are still working though--Christ is seeing to that. And there are good communities/parishes around the country. You have to look around. There are some decent shrines which are well worth a visit, too.

Interesting mix so far. For whatever reason, I expected more atheist and Asatruar though, and fewer Catholics. Thanks again for participating in my poll.

p.s. The one 'none of the above' in the poll so far is a Baptist who chose not to select Evangelical, I believe. I take it so far we have no Muslims, Jews (Judaism), Baha'i, Wiccans, etc? Edited by: White Shogun

I see speedster says that he evolved into an atheist from the Polish National Church. Do any others here consider themselves a convert from one religion or denomination to another?

I could have gone with Asatruar.

But the frank truth is, when I think about Thor for example, it is more in terms of what he symbolizes for the Nordic people. I don't so much expect to actually run into him at say, the ticket counter at the airport.

The things that give me direction, rootedness, and meaning is considering my ancestors, both my immediate relatives and the larger group of Nordic peoples my genetic and cultural inheritance comes from. Concepts of behavior, morality, "taste" jive with own sensibilities in more or less direct proportion to how "White" they are.

I mean, it goes so far that I even felt much more at home and "right" when practicing native European martial arts rather than Asian forms. Their way of moving the body gives with what my body wants to do, their way of approaching strategy jives with my mental leanings.

So in the end, I voted "Race is my Religion".Edited by: White_Savage

I am, as stated above, a Bible believing Christian. Still, I am very interested in the mythology of my ancestors, and fellow whites, including the Greek, Roman, Nordic, etc. As such, I read about Thor, Odin, etc. as a sort of "shout out" to me people, but I don't actually believe in them.

Thanks for sharing Sean. Many may not know this, but ancient Germanic people viewed the gods as their elder kin, even as direct, literal ancestors.

As a student of theology and now, mythology, I found fascinating parallels between some of the Norse myths and Christianity. If any one would like to discuss this topic off thread, feel free to PM me.
