The Wall Street Journal lists Roman Sebrle as the world's greatest athlete saying :

The Czech decathlete could jump over Shaquille O'Neal. He could throw a 16-pound ball the length of a 53-foot yacht. From a running start, he could leap over a two-lane highway. Mr. Sebrle has ideal size, according to physiologists, and expertise over a range of athletic pursuits, employing the speed of an NFL back and the vertical jump of an National Basketball Association forward. Some judges questioned whether Mr. Sebrle could withstand a tackle by an NFL lineman, but none questioned his talent in the 10 track and field events that make up the decathlon. He has won Olympic gold and silver medals for the Czech Republic and is the current world champion.

What do you think of the rest of the list?

I certainly agree with the first pick, Roman Sebrle. I think the reigning decathlete champion should be at the top of the list any time the list gets put out. I am also glad they didn't put Tiger Woods or any golfer on that list.

Here is something you will never see or hear anywhere. Historically the people competing in the decathlon have always been white. This is the ultimate test of athletic supremacy and it has been dominated by whites. In fact I am going to try to bring up this question on ESPN and see who has the balls to answer this question. While I'm at I'll also bring up the fact that the World's Strongest man has always been white and the people competing in the triathlon have always been white.

I think a decathlete was a good choice for their #1 athlete. The list is kind of hard to gauge because they all play different sports and have different strengths. I think Tomlinson and all the other American pro-sports stars on the list could be debated. I strongly disagree with LeBron James being the #2 athlete. There are no marathon runners, swimmers, wrestlers, or cyclist on this list. Perhaps the reason they omitted any type of winter sport athlete was because of it being so close to the Summer Olympics.

I completely agree.

I'm surprised they didn't pick Tiger. He seems like the logical pick since he dominates his sport. However, I don't think he or any other golfer belongs on this kind of list. I actually wouldn't put a baseball player in the top 10 either.

The choices of James and Tomlinson seem contrived. Not having Michael Phelps in the top five discredits the entire list.

I guess swimmers aren't athletic enough. I'd like to see LeBron James in a pool.

Watch the upcoming Olympics and ask yourself why gymnasts are never on these lists.

I think as a hole, white athletes are represented very well on that list. I agree that LeBron at number two is a little hyped up though

"Labrown" James is a over-rated, over-exposed, Caste hyped "god"! As far as all-around athletes go, YoBrown shouldn't be in the top 50. What other pro sports could he play besides hoops? Heck, Brock Lesnar is a pro MMA fighter, pro wrestler & made the team for the Vikings (ran a 4.6 40) after not having played football since high school! Also, no golfer should be in the top 100!
