Nowadays, everyone talks about weight loss, but I think it should be the other way around. You may think I'm crazy, but it's actually fun to go to the gym and release some stress. A lot of people who aren't use to doing exercises may not see how they could do this everyday, but once you make a ritual out of it you actually want to go. This is something anyone can enjoy, and you will feel great in the process. All you have to do is a workout under a hour. I think we can spare 45 minutes to hit some weights. I think you're suppose to eat 6 times a day trying to gain weight, but I can't eat that much. I stick to the 3 basic meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I bought some of my own weights, and that was a great investment. I figure if I can take good care of my car I might as well take good care of myself as well. If anyone else has tip's on weight training or weight gain feel free to write them down.

I would say, 3 meals and hit the weights, maybe for an hour or so, and you'll see some weight changes soon. Be careful though, as it can get out of control if you let it.

Some say that the "six meals a day" thing is just a ploy by
supplement companies (who supposedly own all the muscle
mags) to get lifters to take tons of MRP's and protein powders.
Just a theory.

Weight gain is great as long as it's muscle and not fat. It's easy to overeat when doing a regular weight lifting regimen and add unwanted fat. Working out for 45 minutes or an hour can make you really hungry even though you're not burning off that many calories.

Make sure you get enough protein in your diet.Drink alot
of water and do cardio in addition to lifting. If you
want to take a supplement,I would recomend a herb called
tribrulus. It boosts your testesterone alot.It will help
you to make gains quicker and show the results off
quicker.Stay away from any anabolic roids or andro, etc.
Lifting weights can be done all through life.It is
actually been proven that senior citizens put on muscle
even quicker than teenagers. You can do this at any age.
Good luck to you.

the best supplement to boost your test levels is a product called TRIBESTAN(a powerful tribulus)by SoPharma

I compete in natural bodybuilding sometimesand natural is the best way to do it.there are so many great supplements out nowadays, that you DO NOT steroids.Isopure is also a very good protein supplement.it has 50 grams of whey isolate protein and ZERO carbs for each serving and eat good small meals throughout the day and you can cheat once a while .

White Lightning, can you point me to some sources, either written or on
the web, regarding senior citizens putting on muscle quicker than
teenagers? That goes against everything I've read and I'd welcome ANY
info to the contrary.

Thanks

The only thing I have heard is that senior citizens improve their balance by weight training, because it keeps their muscles toned up.

The old timers used to do 20 rep squats with heavy weights and drink a lot of milk. Paul Anderson and Doug Hepburn used this method to gain muscle and lots of power. Are you training for any sport? There are books on the subject from Ironmind.com.My son put on 50lbs of hard muscle in two years. He will be a Sr. in high school this year.He did a squat at the YMCA with 600lbs for 1 rep.Good Luck on your gaining weight.

The senior citizen angle has to do with the muscle they have lost. Elders respond quickly and gain quickly but that is only the body trying to get back what was there and has been lost. Many of the old folk that go to the gym have never exercised before. A 70 year old lady that can't do a 2 lb. curl on her first day might in a few weeks be doing 6 lb. curls. She might still be weak as a kitten in general but she has tripled what she can do. Use it or lose it is very true with regard to muscle.
