I agree that the Packer-Viking game was refreshing, in that so many white players played significant roles. That being said, I fear that the Packers' dramatic whitening will be a short lived thing. Over the past two seasons, they've established a Norv Turner-like tendency to lose many close games. We all know what happens to coaches (at least white ones) who don't win in this league. I predict that McCarthy will be gone after this season if the Packers don't make the playoffs.
As for Thompson, what was his history before the past few years, when he has added so many (relatively speaking, of course) white players to the team? Is his prior history any different from your typical Castean general manager? Regardless, if either he or McCarthy is replaced after this season, I'd be astonished if the new coach/general manager didn't launch a thorough purge of most of those white players.
