Wayne Estes and Rick Barry were the two most dominant white college basketball players of the early 60s. They battled it out for the scoring title all of 1965. Estes would be the Laker's number-one pick as they had his territorial rights. Tragically he was killed the night he broke the Utah State scoring record. A sad case of what if he had gotten to play in the NBA.

How good was Aggies basketball star Wayne Estes? If he had been able to complete his senior season, and if freshmen had been allowed to play, he would probably rank as the highest-scoring college basketball player in the history of the state.
