It is pretty fair overall. I think I might buy the magazine to have as a collectors item. One thing it said in the article is that with his 7 sub 44 second times, Wariner already has more than anyone in history! He wants the world record and I still think he is capable of it. I hope that at the least he can repeat as the olympic champion and lower his personal best again. Good luck to Wariner and the US Team.

Wariner is on the cover of Boy's Life with a good article and lots of pictures. The local movie theater had a commercial for the Olympics before the movie and featured Wariner along with other US athletes.
Personlly I think Wariner has the chance to get favorable publicity because he has adopted a racially neutral look. He doesn't scream "white" with his near bald head and frequent wearing of dark sunglasses, and seems to be well tanned. He could easily pass as mixed race which is A-OK with the media.
I think it was just her way of modestly saying that she had no inkling that her son would be such a phenom, with neither she nor her hubby being exceptional athletes. I think that was the context, assuming the article I read was the same.guest301 said:His mother is not too bright then, at least on that topic anyway. Wariners athleticism needs no explanation. It's his white genetics, believing in himself and hard work.
guest301 said:Excellent points. I do think whites have a inferiority complex in regards to sports. I certainly did before I discovered this site a few years ago. I honestly did believe we were inferior and it drove me bananas trying to find something to disprove that notion. I checked out so many books on eugenics and past white athletic accomplishments at a library in Dallas about 15 years ago that they must have been wondering what I was up to. I just wanted proof which I found here that we are just as good as everyone else. Not interested in being a superior race but I don't want to be inferior either.
