Wally Hilgenberg

I was very sad to read that Wally Hilgenberg has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), as he was hands down the most gracious Professional I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in person. For those of you not familiar with Hilgenberg, he was a Starting Linebacker for the Vikings for much of their "Purple People Eater" Defensive glory days.

Even though he was before my day, I have enjoyed hearing stories and seeing film of the Vikings in this era. I know he is a strong Christian, so I'll make sure to include him in my prayers.

Hilgenberg was an excellent LB, I remember him well. The front four got the most press, but those LBs (all white) were tough as nails.
