Ho hum, another afflete gets a big payday. I don't begrudge Vick on getting his contract, it wasn't obtained from Lurie at gunpoint. Besides that, if somehow his guaranteed money was cut in half, it wouldn't have the slightest impact on my life whatsoever. Now for the positives. As with many athletes, and MOST affletes, Vick will most likely burn through whatever he gets at an incredible pace, thereby quickly returning the money to the economy, and to many hard-working businesses that are the benefactors of his largess. And for the Eggles, they have the #3 guy in jersey sales who fills the stands with Vick-worshipping DWF's who will fill the Eggles coffers with ticket and parking revenue, in addition to countless $$ spent buying $8 beers and similarly overpriced artery-clogging fare. Win/win for everyone!

Hasn't Michael Vick paid his dues to society? He is a decent quarterback but not worthy of his new contract. If he has two more strong seasons I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Vick may have paid his dues to society but he will always be a low life dog killing piece of sh*t to me, so I think a minimum wage contract is too much for that kind of person. Obviously others think differently.

To be fair there are probably 10-15 better white Quarterbacks out there right now arguably. He is ovverated but with the supporting cast around him this year the Eagles should do well.

Also its interesting to note that there have been many great white qb's of the past that have had Vick's ability to run. If I recall Ben Rothlisberger was a very good runner in college and who can forget Steve Young when he played with BYU.
Its also interesting to note that when I grew up watching college and pro football in the late 80's that the announcers would always refer to white running qb's as scramblers and the few black ones " runners ". To me the word scrambler always had the connotation of something that was discombobulated or out of order. I wonder if this was more of the caste speak that has been well pointed out on this site before?

That's a very good point! Scrambler vs. runner. No one ever considred Bobby Douglas a "runner" yet he held NFL QB rushing records for quite a while.

Yes, human life means little these days. Why should we expect justice to be served on a dog killer when we often can't get justice served on someone who takes human life? In so many ways the world is truly upside down.

Its a crazy world. I am opposed to abortion and yet somehow I wish other races in this country that procreate faster than their financial means can support would maybe try and practice abstinence. It would be unchristian of me to support abortion for other people. Just my two cents.

Ya Mike you did a swell job of staying on the field and leading the "Dream team" to a 8-8 record. I'm predicting Vick won't finish the season(he hasn't once in his career) and will get hurt again at some point and i will be thrilled! But if he gets hurt that just means more media coverage to Griffin,Newton, and Freeman.
