Valuev takes on John Ruiz on Aug. 30 in Berlin for the interim WBA heavyweight title. Hopefully yet another victory for the Russian giant.

The fact that JD did not start a thread for this fight several days ago when it was first announced shows just how much this fight sucks.

Why start something up again Nevada. I could take a truck full of crap and mold and shape me a human being out of it and that human being would still not be as full of crap as you are right now. Just chill out and quit starting fires over stupid stuff. If this fight sucks it's more because of Ruiz than Valuev.

I'm really anticipating this fight. I always enjoy watching the Russian Giant fight. Ruiz is a boring fighter but hopefully Valuev can make this fight interesting. This is just the first of many big fights for white fighters in the next several months.

Chewy should put a death lock on "Jawwny". I can't see a 239.5 pound Jawnny doing much with Valuev....

Well Chewy just put the death lock on Lando again. Valuev won the WBA belt for the second time with a split decision. It's back to the end of the line for the hot oil wrestler.Edited by: white is right

Nicolay Valuev has won the vacant WBA heavyweight title, with a SD win over John Ruiz (it may be changed to UD because there was some confusion over the Japanese judges scorecard).

White boxers still hold three of the four heavyweight titles.

Hopefully they will have all four on Oct 11!

Well I believe Valuev is now the interm champ as Chagaev is still the champion in recess. Chagaev has until some time in 2009 to defend his title against Valuev or Valuev will retain it.

I believe and hope that Valuev is the champ and that Chagaev will be given an immediate shot for the title when he's able to fight again.

Although, as a Don King fighter who probably won't risk his title by fighting Wlad maybe we would have been better off if Ruiz won.Edited by: Amren.com

The verdict was changed to a unanimous decision for Valuev as one of the scorecards was originally misread. Don't forget that a point was taken away from Valuev for allegedly pushing Ruiz down.

By all accounts, Nicolay is an improved fighter from the one that beat Ruiz 3 years ago.

I'd pick him against any heavyweight other than Wlad.

A lot of people say Ruslan is better than Valuev.

Valuev is the regular WBA champion now, not an interim champ.

Chagaev was stripped of the WBA title, and given a "champion in recess" title. The fight today was for the "vacant" WBA title.

Chagaev is entitled to a shot at the title until June 30, 2009 - whenever he's recovered, Valuev must fight him.

I just watched a copy of this fight and it was a much better fight than the first one. Valuev has clearly learned how to box better. Also Ruiz was really fighting not throwing himself into his opponent after throwing one or two shots. I can't believe that these two could actually put on a mildly entertain scrap.Edited by: white is right

Two cheers for Don King for putting some pretty decent European fights on the Internet for free.

Tune in tomorrow! www.donkingtv.com

Don King should be in jail for the drugging and attemted murder of Wladimir Klitschko on April 12 2004.

Don King's website www.donkingtv.com didn't show the fight.

Did it show Valuev vs Ruiz 1? I heard it did. I couldn't get the damn thing to work. Got a new system and don't have sopcast on it.

The first fight is there, but I can't get to to play either.

donkingtv.com didn't stream Valuev vs. Ruiz II though.

So the only way to have watched that fight was SOPcast?
