Besides being an Arkie, I also got my masters from the University of Southern Mississippi.



Don`t you think they are one of the most underated teams in college football?
 
The head coach, Jeff Bower, does a tremendous job down in
Hattiesburg. But his teams are as black as their jerseys. I
don't fault Bower for this; I think he recruits regionally, and his
region is as black as any in the country. One day, Bower will get his
shot to coach a powerhouse program.
 
If he does, I hope he doesn't take his favoritism of black players with him. USM has been the blackest team on average in Mississippi since the teams integrated.
 
They will postpone the game with Tulane which was to be in the Superdome. I don't know for sure about games in Hattiesburg or not. There was some damage there, but I don't think it will affect much once they have a couple of weeks of cleanup.
 
They are 6-5, Sambo! They will be going bowling, I just don't know where yet, possibly the Houston Bowl. Look for it to be announced Sunday.
 
They have a quarterback by the name of Almond I think that has a Brett Favre like arm

Dustin Almond is very good. I hope he gets a shot in the NFL somewhere.
