Here in Canada we are (un)fortunate enough to receive most major American news networks, so we can watch CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News live and on basic cable. Having watched these news networks off and on (merely from a critical point of view) I can tell you it is truly sickening the amount of hatred that is mongered against Russia, Russian people, and Russian culture in American media.
It's pretty much gotten to the point where Russians are being attacked and degraded by the American media as bad as Arabs, or Muslims have been in recent years. Everything the American networks report on about Russia is in a negative light. The Olympics were covered in a way that placed the large part of emphasis on implied human rights violations in Russia, and now, this situation in the Ukraine is covered in a way that says USA = right, Russia = wrong, and anyone who agrees with the Russian view can be seen as a "Neo Nazi".
Honestly, with the way American media covers the Olympics, Russian issues, and issues in Central/Eastern Europe it seems like propaganda getting ready for some kind of future war VS Russia. (Btw, if that ever did happen I would support Russia).
The whole agenda is just way over the top. Everything about USA and American culture is "over the top" and quite frankly I'm sick of it. Americans seem to feel like they're 100% right about everything, and if you don't agree you're anti-Freedom and anti-democracy, and that makes you a bad person and likely some sort of sexist, racist, or homophobe. USA has become increasingly totalitarian and there is no room for different viewpoints. Anyone with a different point of view other than that which is mainstream accepted is a hate-mongerer.
The best thing that could happen for the World, and for racially aware Americans on this site, is for someone to hit the "delete" and "reset" button on USA.
Russia would do well to strengthen ties with China and Iran, as it has been doing. Smart move on Putin's part.
