This is a very strange match up. The most likely outcome is a KO by Rampage.

But, but, but .... when Jardine fights conservatively (like against Lidell) he is very hard to beat. Also, Rampage almost got dropped by leg kicks from Forrest Griffin. The leg whip happens to be Jardine's best weapon. Finally, Jardine's losses happen when he is expected to win (against a then-unknown Houston Alexander and a past-his-prime W. Silva). His best wins have come when few gave him a chance (against Lidell, Griffin and even Brandon Vera).

I am going to go to the bar, get drunk, hit on the girls, enjoy the fights and hope for the best. A win by Jardine is "gravy" as everyone expects him to get KTFO.

The Carwin-Gonzaga fight is the one I most want to see. We should know very quick whether Carwin is the next Lesnar or just a big, strong guy who has fought over matched opponents.

Ditto on that. We know Carwin's a monster, & I suspect he's the real deal. He was a 2x NCAA D2 National runner up in Wrestling & 99 D2 Champ. In addition, he was a 2x All-American in football. In addition to being a superb athlete, he's also a bright fella holding two degress... 1 in Mechanical Engineering & another in Enviro-Tech. He trains with fellow Colorado powerhouse Ron "H2O" Waterman.

Jardine / Jacksonmay be hard to watch....then again, it may be an amazing upset.

If Jackson KO's Jardine, rest assured that the ESPN girlies will wet their pants with glee, and will be proud to exhibit the clip on shows like PTI, Jim Rome, Cold Pizza, and Around the Horn...similar to when Rampage KO'ed Lidell in a few seconds. But this is standard procedure and is to be expected.

Rampage does have 7 MMA losses, and I think he's been KO'ed 3 times thus far.

this is off-topic, but i hope you guys don't mind.

i don't get the chance to watch many mma fights, but the last one i caught was Forrest Griffin's win over Rampage.

i was just curious about Griffin. is he still the champ?

Sadly no. He was beaten by Rashad Evans.

And I think Griffin is out till November because of a injury he sustained in the Rashad fight.

I heard Griffin could be back in August or September.

The good news? He (probably) only needs one win to get another title shot. I have a feeling he will fight the loser of Rampage-Jardine.

The bad news? I have a feeling he will have to fight Machida who will beat either Evans or Rampage for the belt.Edited by: Liverlips

I hate to say this, but the Jardine-Jackson fight points to an all too obvious outcome: 1st round KO by Jackson.

It's just a bad match-up for Jardine. I hope I'm wrong, and if Jardine can survive the 1st round, then I like his chances more.

A few thoughts on UFC 96:

1. What seemed to be a weak card turned out to have some great moments - particularly KOs.

2. Jardine could have won this fight but he chose to bang with Rampage in the last 20 seconds and got dropped. I thought he was winning the third round until that point.

3. Let there be no questions about Shane Carwin. The guy is a monster. He took Gonzaga's best shot without flinching. God, would I love to see Carwin handle Kongo. Please let this match happen on free TV so the whole world can see the overhyped black hope go to sleep.

4. Gotta love Gonzaga's entrance though. Came out to Danzig.

5. Tamdan McCrory is a guy to watch. He is skinny, very pale, wears glasses and works with computers. But when the bell rings he seems to have some kind of inner rage. His game is very solid and I predict we will hear a lot more from him.

6. Rampage had the line of the night after the post-fight staredown with Evans. "There's gonna be some black-on-black crime."

7. Evans should take Rampage but whoever wins will lose the belt to Machida. By this time next year I think people will be putting Lyoto up there with Fedor, A. Silva and GSP.Edited by: Liverlips

I think we'll see Carwin vs. Kongo or "Brown Power" Velasquez. Hopefully, they don't go "full Caste" & matchup Kongo & Velasquez. Carwin demolishes Kongo, but will have a little tougher time against Velasquez.

I sincerely hope it is Kongo. The nuthuggers and drunk white fans at Sherdog seem to think highly of this specimen and most think he will beat Carwin. But I have never seen such an overhyped fighter as Kongo. Heath Herring handled him easily last year and Carwin is much more powerful than Heath. There can only be one reason for this hype of Kongo and I'm sure we know what that is.

Anyway, I'm not even sure Kongo will get by Hardonk.
