That doesn't mean much, Stipe is always disrespected and I get the feeling Dana doesn't like him too much, although this is a dangerous fight for Stipe and Ngannou can definitely win, having him as the underdog is a bit crazy.

Agreed people are buying into his KO power, which is admittedly impressive. As long as Stipe can survive the 1st 2minutes... He statistically has a much better chance of winning this fight. Needs to take him to deep waters and wear him out.

I’d like to see Stipe heavier. If he is forced to wrestle in this one, you want more mass ( even if its not all lean). The only way this swimmer body new look could help is if he can dodge this guy on his feet for 5 rounds. Not sure if thats likely to happen. This could be very interesting.

Ngannou wins this one, always a possibility, shame about Stipe losing.

Ngannou was looking better, much improved from the first fight, Stipe made a mistake when attacking Ngannou and ate one too many power-shots changing from being shy the first round.
With Stipe possibly retiring from this, I heard the saying that he was "two wins or one loss" away from retirement which seems like it makes sense considering Stipe's age I wonder who could challenge him,
if Stipe takes the rematch and with a fire under him from this loss its a possibility but this display doesn't bode well.

Indeed, would Cormier? Jones (even if he is a notorious PED user himself)? Beat this Ngannou? Unlikely, 260+ pounds of "natty" muscle.
Both are much better fighters skill-wise most likely.

Stipe's chin held up well considering what we saw Ngannou do to other fighters, it truly is a Lesnar situation where enchanced physique overcomes all, except Lesnar eventually got punished.

This might be a stupid question, but as an MMA novice, excuse my ignorance. How can the fighters choose the size of the ring? I though the UFC octagon was a standard size? This is the type of sheit you would expect from boxing. I thought MMA had more self respect.

I think the UFC has two sizes, they put Miocic in the smaller octagon in both the Cormier fight back in August and this one, which would put him at a disadvantage.

How is this remotely fair if the size can be determined with no rhyme or reason? If they used the different sizes for different weight classes, that I’d understand.

This smells of corruption, White and the new owners obviously wanted Ngannou to win as they can market him as a UFC George Foreman clone who can't be beat.

Stipe being the smaller guy needed to box Nagannou on the outside and pick his spots to engage him. Admittedly I missed this fight as I had to hit the sack early and haven't seen a pirate stream of the fight.

As I stated a few times having promotional company acting as promoters and sanctioning bodies opens the company up to this form of corruption as the two objectives can't be done equitably.

PS I woke up around 3am and turned on my phone and looked up the results and all I had to see the Kingpin looking White cackling at the post fight press conference to know who won.

If PED Jones does get to fight Ngannou then we know it is all corrupted as traditionally he would have to work his way up the ladder to a titleshot also if that fight does happen I bet Jones gets the bigger cage as he is dead meat without it.

Jones looked very average in last two fights, really 3 fights. All went the distance and it could be argued he lost to Santos and Reyes. He is on the decline. The freakish Ngannou is on the way up. He was much improved from when he first fought Stipe. Of course, I think Stipe has declined a little himself. All this being said, will Jones have the guts to get in there with Ngannou? No one has been able to really hit Jones because of his unique body type. I think his skinny legs would get crushed by a good kicker. I remember Quinton Jackson hit him with one and it really hurt him, but Jackson never followed up. There are not enough steroids on this earth to stop Ngannou from walking right through him. Jones always avoided Anthony Rumble Johnson.

I finally saw a pirate copy of the fight and Miocic actually seemed to be following a similar game plan to the first Ngannou fight but Ngannou fought a tactically intelligent fight this time instead of pulling a Foreman vs Ali plan.

That said Ngannou is much too muscular for his frame and can't really fight at a fast pace or he will gas out, so he can be rope a doped but you will need to eat fire to slay King Kong.

PS there is a photo circulating on the internet of Ngannou in a tshirt and he looks "tiny" compared to what he looks like now, supposedly he was homeless in France and sleeping in the gym where he trained. It's pretty obvious from the photo he isn't close to be clean as he maybe 50 pounds of muscle heavier than back in this time period.
