Should be a fun card. Always fun seeing Guillard get tapped or knocked out by a white man.

A little surprised that Todd Duffee KO'd Phil De Fries. I recall a few years ago Duffee was one of the hottest prospects but then he got caught near the end of a fight he was dominating against Mike Russow. Then he got decimated in 200 seconds against Overroid a few months after that and just disappeared.

I totally predicted that would happen. They would give Jamie the win because it's hard to deny him rounds 1 and 2, but some idiot would score the fight 30-27 for Guillard. Anyways nice win for Varner, he fought smart, most guys make the mistake of tring to engage early with Guillard.

Dadgum Leben needs to spend less time getting "tat'd up" & dying his hair like Ronald McDonald and work on his TDD! :mmph: I know he had an 8" reach disadvantage, but his striking looked a little stiff as well. :eek:hwell:

Alan keeps pulling guard against this goddamn blanket. That's gonna lose him the fight. He put himself in that position both rounds.

If Alan doesn't get the finish he definitely loses and it's from pulling guard over a bad guillotine in two rounds back to back.

I knew Belcher would lose because Okami in a great wrestler and Belcher was trained by my old instructor Eric Schafer. Schafer is constanly tring these stupid ass high risk moves like Guilitines and triangles, these move if not sucessful tend to put you on your back and make your opponent have top position. In class he would mount a guy and go for a guilitine and half the time he would end up not having the submission. What Belcher should have done was stay in the center and use his range.

That pulling guard might work for ADCC champion level BJJ guys, but Belcher is NOT that. :dodgy: He too needs to hone his TDD to utilize his MTKB. He about dropped Okami twice.

What should Alan do after this? He has great skills but that gameplan was idiotic. After seeing how it went the first time with Okami blanketing and smothering him he definitely shouldn't have tried that same damn thing in rounds two AND three.

He was superior in the standup and Okami had no success taking him without Belcher trying the guillotine.

He reversed every takedown attempt except one in the second round after gassing hard from Okami's smothering.

With the evolution of MMA things like triangles, heel-hooks, and guilotines are fading. The new techniques that are taking over in BJJ are sweeps (omaplatas, kimoras), getting hooks in on an opponent, and other techniques used to get someones back or mount the person.

Belcher need to keep it a stiking match, throw leg kicks, use his range, keep the center and stay off the cage by circling. If he does push you against the cage try and underhook and shift you hip and stay upright and don't let him get that bodylock. Okami is the poors mans Chael Sonnen.

I mean, should he drop his trainer? Who made his gameplan? That was the dumbest gameplan I've seen since Fedor rushed blindly into a fresh Werdum's guard, or Fedor throwing looping punches without even any setup while being outweighed by 60 lbs.

What was up with Boetsch? He dominated the 1st round, got cut and then started endlessly going for takedowns. It almost looked like that cut/blood psyched him out. :frown:

Yeah you should always crosstrain with different gyms. Maybe American Kickboxing Academy or Kings MMA, they tend to have a good mix of strikers and wrestlers that are his size.

I overestimated Lauzon. He doesn't seem to throw any combinations, typically throws one strike then covers up.

Ol' Spooky Joe/Nosferatu is a tough mug. :yo: Miller unleashed on him pretty viciously in round 1.
