I'm really looking forward to this card. I think we finally have a good one after several duds in a row. I have some friends coming over, and will be watching it on PPV.

I truly hope Belfort can defeat Silva. He has the talent and skill to do it. If you look at some of his fights from his younger days, he was truly a destructive force. He's had some ups and downs after that, but seems to be on the up again. Let's see which Belfort shows up tomorrow. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Silva and his long reign as the champion, and the time is right for him to go down.

I'm equally excited about the Bader-Jones fight. They are two very closely matched fighters and could be the future of the 205 division. This will be a very interesting battle and I honestly cannot pick a winner, obviously hoping for a Bader victory.

The rest of the card looks pretty decent as well. Rich Franklin always goes out there and gives it his best, and I'm curious how well Griffin has recovered from his surgery/long lay-off.

Great card but could be disappointing from a racial point of view if both Silva and Jones win.

I do see Griffin beating Franklin.

Well Liverlips, you were spot on with that call. It was indeed a very disappointing night racially speaking. Silva dispatched Belfort with a vicious front kick (I have never seen a front-kick KO in MMA, ever), and Bader decided to simply not show up tonight, and Jones won a very underwhelming fight as a result.

Whites control 155 and 170, and I really hope someone can take the heavyweight title back, whether it's Brock, Carwin, one of the newcomers, or what not. 205 seems like a revolving door, and noone seems to be able to hold on for long there. I do hope Shogun defeats Jones in UFC 128, so we'll see. The best White American prospect at 205 (which I thought was Bader before tonight) appears to be Forrest Griffin, and that really doesn't say much at all.

185 is pretty much a lost cause and belongs completely to Silva. It doesn't appear that anyone can defeat him in that division. After what I saw tonight, I think it might be fair to say that the only reason Sonnen almost beat him was due to that rib injury, which was legit. I do not want GSP to move up in class and fight Silva because as much as I hate to admit it, he (GSP) would suffer a bad defeat and I don't want to see that. The size difference is simply too much, and given how so many of these fights come down to how two fighters match-up, it's not worth it. Silva is a bad match-up for GSP.

Yeah idk about GSP fighting Silva either. As much as I hate Silva when he shows up to actually fight he's deadly..

*I was happy to see Ellenberger win. Seems like a tough kid at 170 and I like his midwestern roots. He walked on as a wrestler at Nebraska Omaha as a 21 year old, says alot about his athletic ability.

*Paul Taylor looks to be a natural boxer and also showed a pretty damn good head kick to end his fight.

*Cerrone is a beast. So happy to finally see him get the exposure he deserves fighting on a UFC card!

Adelaide Byrd spotting again. She has a history of screwing whites on her scorecards and she tried it again against Jake Ellenberger. Jake won 2 of 3 rounds against Rocha but she scored all 3 rounds for Rocha! She is a clear racist. Any white who fights a black must know he needs a KO or she will screw him on the cards. If a white judge consistently did this to black fighters it would be national news and he/she wold be out of a job and labelled a racist.

Foobar - we did get some good results on the undercard with Kingsbury and Ellenberger winning thier fights.

I do like Rua to beat Jones and feel GSP and Sonnen have legit chances against A. Silva. "Wrestle, wrestle, wrestle" is the watch word when fighting A. Silva.

Don' forget Couture at 205. If he beats Machida he will likely get a title shot. Forrest is likely one win away from a title shot as well. Don't forget he already beat Rua and Rampage so don't count Griffin out just yet. Besides, Rua is a white Brazilian. Even if he is considered "Hispanic" that is ok with me. I cheer for him against any black fighter and am not too upset when Hispanics beat whites.

Heavyweight is so unpredictable and Brock should get a rematch by beating Dos Santos. Carwin, Big Country and Mir cannot be counted out either.

The bottom line is, A. Silva and Jones are the two best black MMA fighters in the sport. Neither is unbeatable but they are clearly very tough guys. One of our guys will get them soon be it GSP, Sonnen, Couture or Griffin or maybe someone still working thier way up the ladder like Stann or Belcher.

I don't want to rain on the parade, I like rooting for white fighters as much as anybody on the forum, but... I don't think Anderson Silva is going to lose to GSP or Sonnen or anybody for a while. And I think Jones beats Shogun, too. I don't think Shogun's patented leg kicks will work against Jones' reach, and I think Jones out grapples Shogun as well. Jones' biggest handicap is lack of experience, which might be enough to give Shogun the edge however.

Belfort, another product of media hype. Franklin is his only significant win since 1998! Yeah, he has talent, but he's also the biggest underachiever in the history of the sport. He only ever had a puncher's chance against Silva.

Jones' biggest handicap is lack of experience, which might be enough to give Shogun the edge however.

Unfortunately, you may be correct about Jones-Shogun. At least Jon Jones is the David Robinson of MMA. He's quiet, polite, dedicated, hard-working, doesn't showboat, doesn't celebrate, etc. Jones wasn't even the least bit angry after he was disqualified for utilizing an illegal "12-6 elbow"Â￾ whilst destroying Matt Hamill. I could imagine the heated reaction of nearly every single MMA fighter (black, white, or otherwise) after hearing such disheartening news"¦.especially since the 12-6 elbow was far from the "knockout blow"Â￾ he used to win the fight.

I really wish that Ryan Bader could have pounded him, but Jones was clearly the better fighter that night.

At least you are a honest critic Thrashen giving credit to where it is due. I don't see anybody beating Jones either and agree with you about him being the "David Robinson" of MMA. However I didn't see anybody beating Fedor the last couple of fights either and we saw what happened. I did see Sonnen out grappling Silva for 4 1/2 rounds before being caught in a submission and see GSP doing the same thing to him if he gets by Jake Shields.
