1. Matt Riddle def Greg Soto DQ 3rd. Riddle was winning every round
2. Jared Hamman def Rodney Wallace. Decision Hamman dominated this fight
3. Palhares def Drwal. Submission heel hook in the 1st
4. Ricardo Almeida def Matt Brown by 2nd round submission
5. Nate DIaz def Rory Markham by tko in the 1st
6. Jim Miller def Mark Bocek by Decision. Miller has won 4 in a row
7. Jon Fitch def Ben Sauders decision. If it wasn't for GSP Fitch would be champ at 170
8. Kurt Pellegrino def Fabricio Camoes by 2nd round submission
9. Shane Carwin def Frank Mir by first round TKO. Carwin pummeled Mir. I have never seen mir get dominated like he did in this fight.
10 GSP def Dan Hardy by decision. GSP dominated this fight controlling Hardy and almost ending it about four times.

Hawkeye, thanks for posting the results partner. I was going to log on once I got home (from watching the PPV), but was too tired & hit the sack (then church this morning).

***My "half-cent" worth...

- I was stoked to see Hamman beat the afrolete Wallace.

I thought Jared about had him KO'd a few times (head kick, etc.). That was an active scrap, so I'm sure Dana was pleased.

- That Palhares sub was vicious. I bet he torn Drwal's MCL or ACL.

- I was pulling for Brown, but impressed by a strong Almeida (a White Brazilian).

- Markham is too one dimensional, he should consider K-1 (or vastly improve his ground game).

- Jim Miller showed lots of guts in that scrap. He's a tough hombre.

- "Batman" looked the best I'd every seen him. He's won 4 in a row & should be closing in on a LW title shot. I suspect they might match-up Maynard vs. Pellegrino, with the winner to face the winner of Penn/Edgar for the stap.

- Carwin again proved his heavy hands!

The over-confident douchebag Mir got his @$$ handed to him (again).

I knew Carwin wasn't any 6'5, but he looked about 6'1...smaller than Mir & dwarfed by Lesnar (who looked about 300). I can't wait to see the "Battle of the Monsters

- GSP looked totally dominating (wrestling + grappling) vs. the tough Hardy. I knew Dan would have nothing to stop GSP's takedowns, etc. and anticipated it'd go 5 full rounds. Hardy earned my respect by not tapping to the arm-bar & tight topside kimura. GSP showed why he's the #2 P4P (behind Fedor). **They said he might go to 185. I think the same takedown/grappling strategy will be effective against the overhyped Silva.

It's amazing how much power Carwin has in his short almost tapping punches, most people need to throw staight punches or wild looping shots to knock you down but one short left hook from Carwin just drops you. I really thought Mir would give him a much better fight than what he did. GSP was awesome and it's amazing how a great fighter like GSP can make a pretty good fighter like Hardy look like a poor fighter. GSP should move up as he has nothing left to prove in the division he's in, it's legend making time now!

G301, Carwin has the heaviest hands in MMA since Liddell (in his prime). However, I think his only chance against (the bigger, stronger) Lesnar is standing up. Brock's naturally alot bigger and was the NCAA champ (at D1 UM vs. Carwin being an All-American & champ ('99) at D2 Western State (...he was also an AA in football)). I'd give Lesnar the edge is power, size & wrestling, and Carwin the nod in striking (power). The "unknown" is whose BJJ is better, but I suspect it's Carwin...as he's been in MMA longer.

Fyi, here's a good article on new interim HW champ Carwin (still a
full time engineer). In addition to his Mechanical Engineering degree, Shane also holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Technology.

Wow Carwin 5 uppercuts were brutal! Dixiei don't think he's 6'5 either, but I'd say a legit 6'2 or 6'3. The Lesnar V Carwin match will be HUGE!GSP nearly tore off Dan Hardy's arms off twice! Pretty good card, one of the better I've seen.

Yes, very good card. Good results for white fighters as well. All this nonsense about blacks taking over MMA is a joke. Just like they were going to take over QB.

Lesnar looked a lot bigger than Carwin. I think Brock will win but the fight will be huge and have even casual sports fans - and even non sports fans - talking about two white superior athletes.

So - we have a chance - however small - of gaining two more titles in the next UFC PPV. Frankie Edgar takes on BJ Penn and Demian Maia takes on Anderson Silva.

I don't like Edgar's chances but I am going to predict a Maia upset. Anderson is a great fighter but is susceptible on the ground. Maia is the best BJJ guy in MMA.

Yeah - Carwin looks 6'2 no doubt. Brock was at least 2 inches taller (but had on shoes unlike Shane).

LL, don't forget Faber vs. Aldo on 4/24...I think Urijah will win back the FW strap at WEC 48. Also, "afflete" Henderson rematches with Cerrone on the same card. Cerrone was ripped off in their 1st fight & I expect "The Cowboy" to win the WEC LW belt. By the end of April, we could have THREE UFC/WEC belts back with White fighters!
