This guy is lighting up the arena league according to Sports Illustrated. He is one of the top receivers in the afl having 66 catches and 908 receiving yards. He has also developed into a safety. He is only 21. He never played college football. Auburn offered him a scholorship but would have made him abandon his best position(wide-receiver) for safety.

I had never even heard of him. Thanks for the info.I hope
he can get out at a young age and make the transition.
I don't want to see him become like Chris Horn and not
get a chance until his late twenties.Look at a guy like
Flowers. He kicks ass in the arena league but no one seems
to take him serious.Flowers has nfl talent and I'm sure
this kid Bergeron does to!I wish him the best of luck!
One other note on the arena game.Tom Pace is an really
outstanding runningback for the Rattlers. He used to
play for ASU.He had a kickoff return also one time
against UCLA for almost 100 yards. We know the deal
though. We can't have a white rb in the nfl!

Bergeron was named the arena league's Rookie of the Year. At 21 he is the youngest player in the AFL. I heard an announcer say that he nevcer played a down in college.

Man alive, I hope this guy gets an honest NFL look. If anyone should make it, it should be him.

another good white arena player is tracis magriff. He is a former universityof flordia WR and did a very good job there, but no nfl team showed much interest. Now he is doing a pretty good job in the arena league.

Travis McGriff was drafted in the 3rd round by Denver in '99 but they never gave him an opportunity. He only had 5 career NFL catches. That was during Mike Shanahan's strange period when he stockpiled talented white receivers like Patrick Jeffers and Keith Poolebut wouldn't play them.

Fromthis week'sSporting News: "You probably have heard about top receiver prospects in the 2006 draft such as Miami's Sinorice Moss and Oklahoma's Travis Wilson. You might not have heard of Troy Bergeron, but you'll hear about him on draft day. Bergeron never played college ball, but has been a star for the Georgia Force of the Arena League. Bergeron is a 6-2 receiver with speed (he's expected to run a 4.4 40 yard dash at the Scouting Combine) and toughness. Scouts say he has very good hands and the ability to adjust to the ball. He also has been a standout on kickoff and punt returns. If Bergeron works out well at the Combine, he could be a second round pick."

Looks like we have another Curtis type with a good chance at making it.That is really exciting.Great pics of the game action.I really love receivers with speed that have a knack for the run after the catch.I miss Stokley doing that this year but he hasn't gotten the ball enough.Curtis is one of the best and I think that this kid could just be the next great one.

Cool looks like a real deal prospect who hopefully will latch on to a good team that will show him the ropes. Where is this guy from though and why didn't he ever play college football. Maybe he was a track star instead in high school and college.

No,he wasn't even invited. He will get to work out on a Pro Day though and show his stuff.I think he will have Matt Jones type speed and should get a serious look from some teams that could probably sign him for the minimum. This kid has pro-bowl ability if a team gives him a chance to be a number 1 or 2 receiver!

I seen this guy on cold pizza today, and I think he's half black. I'm pretty sure they showed a picture of his daughter and she was black

I don't know anything about his background or girlfriends. But for caste purposes..if he looks white to the general public..he is white.

This is the only picture of his face I can find on the Internet:

From his last name I thought he might be French. It's possible he's part black, but I couldn't find anything that he is. His father is a retired police officer and his fiancee's name is Sharee. He originally signed with Middle Tennessee State but dropped out. Anyone know if that's a black school or not?

It looks like Middle Tenn is not a black school. He looks white in the picture...for anyone who saw his interview what did he sound like? He looks as white as me so I am pretty sure he is white.

He is for sure white. He looks a little like Kirk Hinrich, the point guard for the Bulls.I can't wait to see what type of numbers he puts up at the Pro Day.I will predict that he will be one of the 5 fastest players in the nation for all of the contests.Good luck to him.

no, it's not a black school, Blue Raiders Football used to feature even more white athletes pre-1999 before moving up to division 1-A

Good to know he is completly white, he does look white but you can never be to sure. If that criminal from FSU McPherson could get drafted in the 5th round due to his experience in the AFL I could see Bergeron going in the 4th since he is not a project developmental type player and could be plugged into an offense and contribute immediatley. Hinkle, Hass, Anderson, Denney, Bergeron and Bloomare all white wrs that have a great chance to be drafted this year...when is the last time 6 whites were drafted at the WR position? Next year Smardizja (sp) and this guy from Eastern Michigan Desauliers will probably be first day picks at the position so hopefully it will be an increase at the position. I like to think guys like Proehl and Chrebet who showed white wrs could play during a very black time in the NFL lead to Drew Bennet, Kevin Curtis, Jurevicious, Stokely and Matt Jones. Now with white guys playing the position with sucess again in the NFL hopefully the caste will be chipped away at some more because more white wrs in the NFL will allow kids to have someone to look up to who looks like they do and they will start to tell college coaches that they can play wr and other skill positions.

Well in order to break the caste system at WR there is going to have to be a great superstar WR that the media is in love with. Such as a Randy Moss or Terrell Owens type of media hype.

I think Matt Jones has the potential to be that guy...he had lots of exposure leeading up to the draft and had a very good season for a guy playing the position for the first time after converting from QB. He is more physically gifted than either Moss or Owens so now he just needs a breakout season next year. He is alreadyy the best WR on the Jaguars.
