I often hear Ortiz mentioned asan MVP candidate, but Hafner should also be considered. Ortiz has more HR's and RBI'S but Travishas a much higher OBP, SLG and BA. He also tied a record hitting 5-6 grand slams.

The media has no love for Pronk, but big poopy is a media darling, so don't expect Hafner to get any votes.

Ortiz, black, hispanic, and on a team in contention = no contest.

Is Ortiz out for the season? If so, I think it will go to Mauer, Morneau, or Dye. It all depends on which team wins the Wild Card. Hafner is not on team in contention and constantly gets overlooked, just look at the past All-Star games. I think you could make a case for Derek Jeter as the leagues MVP. It will be interesting, but I think Ortiz will win if he's not hurt.

Hafner is the BEST player in baseball never to be invited to the all star game. It's really a travesty when you consider he has 3 straight seasons of 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. This guy gets no love and is the most underappreciated hitter in the game.

He might have to tan his entire body brown and change his last name to Lopez if he wants to get invited to the All-Star game.Edited by: Bear-Arms
