The heavyweight division needs the Klitschko brothers to retire before it can regain its glamour, says American fighter Tor Hamer.

“If you look at the division from the American viewpoint, they don’t find them [the Klitschkos] interesting. They are not very exciting fighters. They are not destroying people like Tyson was years ago. While the Klitschkos are dominating, they are not fun to watch.

“They don’t knock guys down within two rounds. They are not big trash talkers. They are both educated fighters. One has a doctorate, the other one is involved in politics. You know they don’t have the nation appeal that you would have with Mayweather, who is in your face all the time,” says the New Yorker (21-2, 14 KOs).

Who cares what Americans find interesting? Boxing is a global sport. The Klitschkos don't need American support.

And I remember Haye saying the same thing about the K Bros ruining HW just before Wlad humiliated him. I wish these guys would stop running their mouths unless they can do something about it in the ring. The Klitschkos aren't going to step down and retire just because some find them boring.

As far as Mayweather goes, he's a classless thug. I am sure if the K Bros beat up on women, spent time in jail, wasted money, used profanity in interviews, Americans would be interested. This guy has a lot of balls for knocking them for being educated.

yet Hopkins vs Winky Wright was a very high selling ppv fight. Wright, not an aggressive fighter, pulls his trunks up way too high, uses the fake peek a boo style, I like to call it the turtle, he is getting hit, just with his gloves covering his face. And Hopkins, a guy that has getting tangled up with an opponent down to a science. A fighter who almost every fight Ive seen of, I can't tell you for sure if he won or if he lost, except against Calzaghe who figured out that crap.

It hyped up as the "art of boxing" and a "chess match". Really it was just Hopkins getting away with as many fouls as possible, but this excuse of not "entertaining" is bs, because many people bought that ppv and LIKED it.

I think another thing that plays into white AMerican boxing fans not liking the K brothers is that Americans are conditioned by the media that white athletes are not real athletes and that only black athletes are the only real athletes. That translates into since the K brothers are dominating the heavyweight division the heavyweight division must be lousy, because only a black athlete can dominate. Also, a bigger reason is that unlike black people who feel a sense of pride when black athletes do well. Most whites today feel no sense of pride when a white athlete achieves. They are so conditioned by the media and educational systems to feel any sense of pride in being white. This mentality translates into a bigger issue than just sports which is the decline and downfall of white america.

Yep, Ali was a bore to watch. He had no power and so danced around hoping to wear out his opponents while also taunting them both before and during matches -- a tactic which the media always assured the masses was more evidence of Ali's amazing "charisma," a charisma that outside the ring consisted mostly of simpleton nursery rhymes. Think of Terrell Owens only slightly more clever. Ali's matches usually dragged on and were filled with long stretches of little to no action.

In the early years Clay did have ability and KOs. It was after Frazier beat his ass in their 1st fight that it went all down hill for Clay. His last great win was against Foreman, who was not trained right or conditioned right for Clay. After this, Clay got numerous robberies in his favor.

Only now is Clay paying for his crimes and collaborations.
