Looking for some feedback on the Top Achievements of 2004. Below is a partial list. I would like to know which are the most significant (in your opinion) and if there were any others that were important. Thanks for the help.

Jeremy Wariner winning gold in the Olympic 400 meter

Scott Podsednik being first white player to lead the majors in steals in 50 years

Italy beating the US in Olympic basketball.

Vitaly Klitschlo winning the heavyweight boxing title

Yuliya Nesterenko winning the women's 100 meter gold

Drew Bennett among the leaders in receiving yardage in the NFL

Mike Hass, Oregon St. 3rd, Eric Deslauriers, EMU 4th, in the NCAA in receiving yardage

Maria Sharapova defeating Serena Williams for Wimbledon title

Predrag Stojakovic finishing second in points-per-game in the NBA (2003-2004 season

If I had to pick one it would be really hard but I will try to at least narrow it down to around the top 3.My top
3 would be Wariner winning the 400 College Indoor and Outdoor Nat'l Championships,winning the 400 US Olympic
Trials 400 Chsmps,and going on the win the Gold Medal in
the 400 in AThens in 44.00 seconds flat.Wariner in doing
so broke Michael Johnsons Baylor 400 Meter Record and he
became the first US Sprinter to win a gold since Mike
Larabee in 1964.That's 40 years ago.Second on my list
would have to be Klitschko winning the Heavyweight Championship of the World.Other than Morrison having a
small belt,Klitschko has to be the first white to hold a
major heavyweight belt since the 60's or 70's.I believe
he will keep it for a very long time.He has never been knocked down or knocked out.Finally at 3rd would for be
have Scott Podsenik winning the stolen base title.He has
become the best base stealer in all of baseball.You have
to go back a really long time since a white guy lead all
of baseball.Everyone on this list is more than worthy and
they are all a source of great pride.I admire each and
everyone.

You could have a huge list just for Olympic victories.
Along with those already mentioned, Stefan Holm
winning gold in high jump, and in fact white men
sweeping the high jump. White women sweeping
both the high jump and long jump. A white man won
the 800 meters (forget his name), and I believe we
won both marathons. Despite the controversy, Paul
Hamm's comeback performance to win the
all-around was electrifying. Michael Phelps has to be
mentioned as well.

There's plenty of baseball stuff, too. Randy
Johnson's perfect game, Roger Clemens's Cy
Young season, and Curt Schilling's "bloody sock"
victories in the ALCS and World Series.

And Brandon Stokley should be mentioned along
with Bennett for his 1000 plus yard season, and
being the recipient of Manning's record-breaking TD
pass.

Great job JD074.The list gets bigger by the moment.It was a great year for us in sports.Let's hope that 2005
is even better as white athletes continue to fight to
break down the barriers against them in sports.

I think Lance Armstrong's sixth Tour de France title deserves to be
listed too. This guy is a symbol for all the great things about
sports.
