Michalczewski was also a two weight world champ. He knocked out Nestor Giovannini in the 10th round to claim a portion of the Cruiserweight title. In the mid 90s the Cruiserweight division wasn't nearly as strong as today's division. Dariusz could have been dominant force there IMO but he chose to come down back to light heavy and defend his belt for a division record 23 times. Second all time for all divisions.

Adamek should be closing in on the p4p lists but something tells me he'll have to beat Godzilla before they(especially Ring Mag) give him the recognition he deserves.

As far as the wiggers are concerned

As much as I like Pavlik, Tomasz is more versatile and can mix up his style to box or brawl when needed. I would love to see Goral beat the sh*t outta Hopkins.

Just finished reading Dan Raphael's scorecard on Tomasz great win. Dan talks about a possible match against Bopkins.

If I am Tomasz I say NO! Hopkins has a inferiority complex since he lost to Calzaghe and white boy. His hommie low life friends never let him hear the last of it. Its his hell on earth.

I say let it continue. Like Pavlik this is a no win situation for Tomasz unless they give him the keys to Fort Knox, and in these times its not going to happean.

I say f..k Hopkins and give Cunningham an deserved rematch if he wins his up coming fight. In the meantime enjoy a break, stay in shape, pickup a house way below market and also enjoy Hopkin's torment here on earth.

Adamek is a pro, which means he is in it for the money. If the cash is there he should take advantage of Hopkins' name for a good payday, then deal with Cunningwho? next.

I would like to see him fight Hopkins. However we all know Hopkins will hold the whole fight. Hopkins is a very dirty fighter and that irks me.

Tomasz is fire!!! I would like to see anyone beat him now. Haye will get destroyed by Klitschko and then what?
He may not be in the class of Daruisz M, but he's w/o a doubt the best Polish fighter of this decade, and of his generation. He keeps busting blackie after blackie. Congrats to Adamek many times over, I'm sure Daruisz is very proud right now! Polish Power!!!

I saw an interview recently. I don't know when it was from but Golota said he would hurt Dariusz. Dariusz responded laughing.

What a well-executed game plan. Be conservative, don't get hit with anything stupid, bring him into deep waters, wait until he's fatigued, and then knock him out. This is what I like to see, a white fighter who displays poise, patience, and a good f*$%ing corner! Are you listening, Pavlik, Katsidis? I think some people are criticizing Adamek's performance early in the fight, but I disagree. That was the gamplan. He took some big shots from Banks, but not many. A few in the first round, a few more in the third or fourth, and that right hand before he got the KO- and if you noticed, it was Banks who was holding after he cracked Adamek with that right hand! He was worn out! His reputation is starting fast and wearing down. Adamek and his team knew it. It was a truly brilliant performance, mentally and physically.

And one more thing, do not go to Heavyweight and do not fight Bernard Hopkins! I would love more than anything to see Hopkins lose again, but that's a very dangerous fight.

Yes Adamek should not go to heavyweight. I agree with you on that one. Adamek took Bank's hardest shots and didn' even budge.

Seems Hopkins was demanding way too much money. They wanted Adamek to settle on a $500,000 flat fee. Even though Popkins would be going up in weight to face the champion he makes lots of demands.

Hopkins really needs to shut his trap. He lost to Calzaghe and he won't admit it. Yes he did beat Pavlik but I think Adamek would destroy him. Adamek has alot of power and would probably have gotten a late round KO over Hopkins. I know Hopkins hasn't been down but he also has never faced anyone with Adamek's one punch knockout power.

WA33 I believe Bopkins was knocked out of the ring by Antwuan Echols, when Echols was a feared Middleweight. And I think another time he was dropped, right now I can't think of the fighter.

Adamek could have beaten Hopkins. He is much stronger than Pavlik, obviously. He would be able to knock out Hopkins like he did to Banks.

Antwuan Echols put Hopkins down in both fights and both times the knockdown was disallowed by the referee. The first time the referee warned Echols for hitting on the bead. The second time the official version ( I did not see this fight ) is that Echols "body slammed " Hopkins in the 6th and was penalized two points for doing so. Strangely enough Hopkins was penalized a point for holding Echols behind the head. Since Hopkins allegedly suffered a dislocated shoulder when he was body slammed I an wondering how he did this.Edited by: Tired old White

I had no idea a guy like Antwuan Echols gave ol' Hopkins a run on his money. I better find a video of their bouts.

Segundo Mercado dropped Hopkins twice.

And Hopkins is full of $hit re: Adamek. Offering him $500,000 when Pavlik got a cool three million? No way. That would be an enormous risk for Adamek. Honestly, it's a bad match-up for him. Hopkins acts like Adamek should see it as an "honor" to fight him. Please. Adamek is the Cruiserweight champ. Not beltholder, champ. He's got a passionate following. He's in a position to fight any Cruiser he wants: Cunningham, G. Jones, Huck, Flores, etc. And make money doing it. He's not getting any younger. Why risk his future earning potential- several million dollars- for 500 grand? Good choice, Adamek. This is what we need, a white fighter who is savvy inside and outside the ring. At least Pavlik made a lot of money for his unnecessary risk; Adamek should get the same money for the same risk.

On the other hand, a fight with Glenn Johnson would be very exciting! Also an unnecessary risk, but a much better match up. And speaking strictly as a boxing fan, it would be a flat out fun fight to watch. And I doubt Johnson would try to lowball him like Hopkins did. Edited by: JD074

While I agree with what you said, I think you may have overlooked the most important point. Adamek is a big draw and sells PPVs and live tickets; Hopkins on his own cannot sellout a school bus. The man with the draw must bet a minimum of 50% of the purse.
