The Jaguars ran Gerhart four consecutive times from the one yard line last Sunday and he failed to score. It was the exact same play each time with no push from the Jax o-line, no pass play or end around mixed in, but of course Gerhart took 99% of the blame. I read one site that said he should never touch the ball again in the NFL. A really really bad sequence for Toby. . .

Gerhart hasn't done anything to help himself this season.
If he doesn't play well in some of the upcoming games, it will be impossible to make a case for him to play in the future.

It might just be a case of bad luck more than conditioning, but Gerhart is running out of chances.

It's bad luck and perhaps over-conditioning. He should have never run last year all year on less than 100%. It's amazing he hasn't learned from that and continues to sparingly play rather than completely rest. After last year's first game he was still popular with the fans, but after running at less than 100% for two straight years on a terrible team where a running game is non-existent for every RB on the roster, he has worn out his welcome. Toby's best chance is to somehow find himself back with Minnesota backing-up Peterson (fans still remember him running well here) or somehow get to Baltimore where we can hope that Jim Harbaugh can remind his brother how good Toby is.

Toby may get yet another chance at some significant playing time:

T.J. Yeldon (foot) is in a walking boot. Yeldon is looking highly questionable for Thursday's game against the Titans. Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart will form a committee if Yeldon can't go on the short week.

Gerharts almost predictable career demise causes me to think about what a coach (not sure if it was the head coach at the time) at USC said to Gerhart and his dad when they visited to decide where Toby should go to college. The coach said he'd make Gerhart the next Junior Seau, i.e. a future NFL linebacker star. The Gerharts rejected this approach, but now I wonder if we'd rather have Gerhart as yet another white star linebacker playing every down and dominating his teams defense like a Lee, Mathews or Kuechly, or see his talents and career go in this sad downward spiral.

The man who said that was Plantation Pete Carroll of the blackbirds. I believe he offered Gerhart a "chance at either fullback or linebacker." Pretty certain Plantation Pete would never utter that crap toward an affelet with same accomplishments and skill set Toby had coming out of HS.

It looks like Toby Gerharts days in Jacksonville have come to an end. He will be cut after the season so they can void the last year of his contract. I can't blame the Jacksonville Jaguars as he has been the walking wounded for a couple of years now. He has done very little to justify the contract he was given. The really sad thing is he will probably never get another shot. Hope the Pats or Colts shock me and give him one last chance but I won't hold my breath.

I really hope this doesn't hurt alot of our future running backs and their chances. After Hillis & now Gerhart, teams are even more reluctant to give a white running back a chance. I hope I'm wrong!!

The average number of years for a running is 5 years. Toby hit the 5 year mark. I will always remember his Stanford years and the years he stepped in for Peterson. Hopefully next year he can latch on to another team and be fully healed. But like you said White Lighting I won't count on it.

I was lucky enough to see almost all his games on TV his senior year.
He was one of the best college running backs I have EVER seen.
I had hoped for a LOT more from him. To be frank, he's been a disappointment.
Some of it was due to injuries; some due to being Peterson's back-up; and perhaps some due to his psychological make-up (as someone suggested, he may have not been mentally equipped to deal with a mostly black NFL).
It's a shame that he never was able to fully showcase his talents in the NFL.
Also, I can't help to wonder if his failure could cast further doubt for any team considering a white running back.....

Gerhart had a terrible offensive line last season in Jax that couldn't open any holes for him to run through. That's never mentioned when the media tears him down. But no question he's been a walking injury report last year and this year and even at times in Minnesota, and now he has a sports hernia which is why he was put on IR. He was drafted by a team that had no need for him, while teams like San Diego and Houston passed on him. No NFL team will draft a White running back with the idea of him being the starter, and unfortunately Toby has been a detriment to the cause of White RBs after his stellar college career.

I'm sure it's been posted before, probably multiple times, but here's a nice highlight reel of Gerhart's Stanford days. He was a breakthrough RB at the college level and that can never be taken away from him if turns out he doesn't get another chance to start, or even be a backup, in the NFL.

The average number of years for a running is 5 years. Toby hit the 5 year mark.
But his effective years is much less, probably only two or three due to his under utilization at both Minnesota (due to Peterson) and Jacksonville (due (mostly) to injuries).

He really hasn't taken that much of a "pounding" that a typical starting RB would take in a five year span in the NFL. Probably the most "pounding" he took was done by his black "teammates" during his rookie season at Minnesota during the pre-season and throughout his rookie season when they were intentionally trying to seriously injure him.

I'm still trying to wonder why he was so effective in Minnesota and then not at Jacksonville (outside of injuries). Was it the OL, was it the blocking schemes, play calling...what? If my memory serves me correctly, I think he had a better average yards per carry stat than Peterson did when he was at Minnesota.

If he never plays another down in the NFL, at least his stint there will be a life-long lesson on the true nature of blacks. That awareness alone may help him live a long and healthy life in the post-NFL world...

Lurkers take note. The way Gerhart was treated his rookie year in Minnesota is an example of the anti-white racism in the NFL. If a black player had been treated the way Gerhart had, the mainstream media would have made it a national scandal. Because the "mm" is black supremacist and anti-white they barely reported it.

Gerhart has the talent to be a quality starter in the NFL. Unfortunately he has been hampered by injuries.

If you watched the Stanford game you saw what an amazing running back Christian McCaffrey is.
That said, I believe that Toby Gerhert was actually an even better running back (from scrimmage) in his senior season than McCaffrey is now (sophomore season).

I guess it couldn't have worked out better for anyone that does not want to see white running backs in the NFL. Gerhart was screwed from the beginning when he was inexplicably drafted by the Vikings who had the best back in the league in Peterson.

Gerhart temporarily threw a wrench in the works by succeeding when he got a chance and leveraged it into a big contract, unfortunately he went to a team that sucked and never seemed committed to him.

Even worse his failure in Jacksonville has boosted the stereotype of white backs as injury prone and not worth risking them in the role of a primary ball carrier. In many ways this has been a worse case scenario.

I can't see Gerhert getting the chance to start again.
His time in Jacksonville really devalued him.
He'll need to sign with some team for small money and then be buried on the depth chart.

The following is a post I wrote in the Toby Gerhart thread on Nov. 19, 2009. Not bragging, just pointing out how predictable the caste NFL is:

I'd like to think that we have seen this screwing over of white players for so long now that we can accurately predict how things will go for Gerhart.

First, the discussion will start about his potential as a fullback. This is just planting the seed.

Next, he will fall in the draft rankings. He'll end up a 2nd round pick.

The most obvious bad thing that will happen to him next is that the NFL team with the best running back will draft him. It happened to Hester and Leonard so why not Gerhart.

He will then become a backup and slowly disappear from the minds of the DWF's.

Finally, no media person will support him in any way that implies he should be running the ball.

That's been the pattern so far.

This is a post GWTJ made in 2010. It was 100% accurate.

The caste system is all about screwing white athletes, its not just a culture but a literal AGENDA carried out by order from the high ups in academia and then the NFL.

Amazing Jacksonville's crappy o-line which gets hammered totally signaling hey run up the middle and Gerhart can't get in. Funny thing is I've seen Emmitt Smith do this dozens of times and he was never to "blame" I guess whitey has to take the heat for crappy predictable play calling and crappy oline plays that can't even move a line an inch.

I dont get to see Jacksonville very often on the tube here, so question: what is the colour of their "O" line? Seeing Gerhart run he could be starting RB on most teams....they used him like he is a bulldozer yet he is shifty and has great speed......sad...guess he is the wrong colour...

Scary prediction there. Gerhart still has gas left in the tank, so where is he? I think he had a tryout with the Broncos(?). But no interest I guess.

This is so tiresome. We really need to start being more vocal about this. The league needs to be about talent and skill like it used to be...not a gross overrepresentation of blacks to emasculate the white male.

Jacksonville's inability to open any holes for Gerhart in 2014 effectively ended his career. He went from a 7.9 yards per carry average with Minnesota in 2013 to 3.2 with Jax in '14. One bad season was all it took for the team, league, media and DWFs to write him off. This is his second season out of the league, he won't be back.

Gerhart was replaced to great applause by T. J. Yeldon, who not surprisingly has been a big disappointment, averaging 3.9 ypc in two seasons and also having injury problems. Gerhart ended his career with a 4.2 ypc average but only totaled 1,675 yards over six seasons. Now Leonard Fournette is Jacksonville's latest great black hope at running back, we'll see if he pans out or not.

And yes, great post by GWTJ from nearly 8 years ago, right on the money. He's also right how predictable the trajectory of White players is in the NFL, the few that are even allowed to get that far that is.
