With acquisition of Willis and Cabrera today, I think it's likely they won't field a single White player next season.Edited by: Bear-Arms

The Tigers are doing this just to piss me off! I already have virtually no reason to support them and now they go and get a couple more hispanola's and to top it off DONTRELLE WILLIS!!! Denny McLain is turning over in his grave!!!!

The ballpark will continue to be filled with White fans, maybe their thinking will be,"I may be called a racist if I don't support the team"!Edited by: LabMan

Cabrera will start at third now Stonewall..

BTW..I clicked on this forum to post this fact of no white tiger starters but you beat me to it!!

Actually, McClain is still alive, but a bunch of ex-Peet Packing Company
employees are spinning in theirs.

Yes I know Denny McLain is still alive, poor choice I guess he's one of the biggest white a-holes in sports history (but still better then the average black thug).

Gee I'm surprised Tartan Pride chimed in to bring up the fact that a white athlete was a bum, you'd almost think the guy had an agende.

Mickey Lolich must be turning over in his grave.

Considering how white most of the World Series teams have been lately, this does not bode well for Detroit. I look forward to them getting smoked by mostly white teams.

I do, the truth.

Then you should read up more on Brett Favre.

You were the first person I thought of after hearing that the young starting pitcher with the electric personality was traded to the Tigers.

jaxvid,

I didn't know Denny Mclain is dead. Are you sure? When did he die and what did he die of?

Tom Iron...

And don't forget about Washington. They will give Detroit a run for the money in the blackest team in America category.

McLain's not dead, I was joking, Lolich isn't dead yet either.

Tigers line-up
C Rodriguez
1B Guillen
2B Polanco
SS Renteria
3B Cabrera
LF Thames
CF Granderson
RF Ordonez

6 hispanics and 2 blacks, What country is this????

Actively trying to trade Inge, I'm glad to say because he's demanding it if
he won't start.

Where is Joe Morgan? Where is the outrage ?

Inge is screwed. His value was as a Tiger was how he fit in as the non-offensive white boy/team mascot. The Tigers were reluctant to acquire or promote one of the gazillion white power hitting 3rd sackers (the positon where allmost all white power hitters are segregated) so Inge filled that spot and his hard play won him fan favoritism because he was "bluecollar"

Plus he didn't rock the hispanic boat.

Now he has a huge contract and nobody wants to pony up that kind of dough for a low average, big strikeout mediocre power hitting, high error infielder.

Incindentally he was an excellent fielding catcher and would be more then adequate offensively at that positon but the Tigers moved him from there because Ivan Rodriguez complained about the competition. Inge hasn't seen a game behind the plate in years even though he's much better then the current back-up.

He should call himself a catcher and try to go to one of the many teams that need a decent backstop.

Man, the Tigers vaunted all-Hispanic line-up is simply dominating!! They have an 0-7 record so far & 15 runs scored in the first 7 games. That is unbeliveably solid!

Inge is their best player to date ... and really the only one contributing. I don't know what's more surprising this early in the season: the Tigers being 0-7 or the Orioles being 6-1. Either way, this is pretty funny while it lasts.

Anyone see the game today? Verlander accidentally hit Orlando Cabrera in the back of head and Pudge tried to con the umpire by saying it hit Cabreras bat. I thought that was kind of low class, any other catcher would have motioned to the dugout for the trainer.

The Tigers are 2-9 on the young season. Dontrelle Willis is on the DL now with a knee problem. I guess this prevents his ERA from getting any higher.

They recalled Ryan Rayburn from AAA. Hopefully Rayburn will get a chance to play sometimes. Brandon Inge is still playing well, and Clete Thomas is doing some positive things on the field as well.

Really a tragedy. My baseball consciousness awakened in 1968. Now that tigers team was one of the greatest in history--and a great white team. One of the classiest. Say what you like about McClain, in 1968 no one could touch him. He was damn good the next year too.

But there are certainly a lot of old tigers that are turning over in their graves. Norm Cash, Ty Cobb, Charlie Gehringer, Is Al Kaline still with us?

Yes, and he LOVES the new "breed" of Tigers.
