This weekend "The Tillman Story" opened in New York and LA. It is not shown in Flyover Country until next month. Has anyone seen it or planning to?

Pat Tillman is the Cardinal safety who turned down a big contract to join the Army Rangers in 2002. He was killed by "friendly fire" in 2004, to much controversy since.

Jon Krakauer wrote an interesting book about Tillman. Many leftists thought Pat Tillman was a redneck Bush-loving jock who got what he deserved. Now, they love him as a "liberal atheist who read Noam Chomsky."

Krakauer's book didn't say that much about Tillman's NFL career. The only football player Tillman was close to was Jake Plummer. There were no quotes from any other Cardinal teammates in the book and none in the film.

One wonders what Tillman's Arizona Cardinal teammates and NFL players in general really thought of him.

Pat Tillman grew up in an all-white suburb and like many current white pro football players was from an upper middle class background.

i think to expect this movie to be anything but spin would be a mistake.
