I have been watching parts of this series, and sure enough it is full of P.C drivel, like everything else in this country.

In the first episode, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorah. What really happened in the bible: A crowd of homosexuals come to Lots house and wanted to rape the two men inside. In this mini-series they changed that part to a crowd of angry men wanted to fight the two guys inside.

In the second episode, we see the story of Sampson. In the mini-series Sampson is played by a dark black guy, and of course Delilah is white. Par for the course so far, I am sure more to follow.

hey brother.. I find myself skipping these things now unfortunately, because of the reason u cite.. Contemporary social idealogy being substituted (or inserted) for the original Biblical stories. The Bible is humanity (as is), warts and all.. which is why (imo), it is so powerful and durable.

The story of Sodom has been one of the most memorable to me, psychologically & spiritually. Both for good & bad really..

First because the harshness of God's judgment in this story terrifies me.. both the destruction of a town by 'fire & brimstone', and the reduction of a human being to a pile of salt.. basically for indulging her God-given curiosity (looking back over her shoulder).
But it also has a hopeful thread (in the prior Chapter 18:32), where God before levelling Sodom promises, He would not destroy a wicked place, if 10 righteous men still inhabit it. It's a passage I personally lean on, when I think about the Western world's deeply endangered state. God may allow the West to survive if only a handful of righteous natives are still upholding it (?)

Gen 19:5, the act of planning homosexual mob violence that led to Sodom's destruction.. not the P.C. version of a potential beating..
They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

Gen. 18:32- Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten (righteous) can be found there?”The Lord answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”

it's also messed up that Lot offered up his daughters to the horny mob.. but it is what it is.. Political correctness is populated w/liars,
present this powerful, timeless story as it is History Channel:painkiller:..

The History Channel has really fell off even since I was a young kid. They barely have anything to do with actual history these days. So it doesn't surprise me that they would change events from the Bible to fit their multi cultural ways.. On another note I have heard positive things about their mini series on Vikings.

The only thing I know about this series is what I heard on Rush's show today, that the "Satan" character was said to look like Obama. Rush started: If Satan had a son would he look like....."

With the exception of Pawn Stars, the History Channel is unwatchable. Its mostly revisionist history at best, especially when it comes to WW2 documentaries.

Good overview. It's also important to note, these were not men...but angels whom the vile sodomites wanted to violate. The angels then struck the crowd of (would be) rapists with blindness....

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; [SUP]2 [/SUP]And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

My take away from the History Channel Bible Show

1) Genesis is unambiguous as to what was going on in Sodom. The crowd wanted some male on male action with the strangers/angels. There is no other way to read it, and the History Channel is just making up excuses. I'd rather they skipped it altogether than lie about it.

2) The Satan portrayed DOES look like Obama. A lot like Obama, and it's hard to believe that was an accident.

3) The fat black playing Sampson also showed up in Game of Thrones last season, again playing a character that was not black in the source material. Is this guy a specialist? Will he be playing the part of General Patton or Gerald Ford at some point? It's absurd. The people of the Levant at that time probably looked a lot like the ones there now who have NOT mixed with the Arab invaders: the Christian populations in Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon. In other words Sampson probably looked a lot more like Matt Kalil with long hair than the sumo actor.

'History's Mysteries: Sodom and Gomorrah.'

for cable documentaries on Sodom.. there was a better one back in the 90s:
'History's Mysteries: Sodom and Gomorrah'

probably aired originally back in the mid-late 90s. I used to watch the series back in the day. Anyways, the episode is on instant Netflix if u got it.. More accurate accounting of the Biblical story, and followed with the archeological search for Sodom. (not bad)

Another series running now is "Vikings." The lead character's wife is of course a great fighter in her own right. In the first episode she kicks ass on two would-be rapists, and in the third then goes along on the second raid of England swinging her sword and bloodying up a beach along with all the other Vikings.

As if.

And without that, since Sampson had never had his hair cut, he must have had an EPIC 'fro! :afro:

I watched these first couple episodes, too. Pretty good so far. At least there's no diversity in the cast. No Morgan ****ing Freeman at Lindesfarn! No Samuel L. Jackson as master ship builder.

Thinking of the "History" Channel as authoritative is about like thinking wikipedia is authoritative. Haven't watched "The Bible" show and won't. Several Christians I know have viewed it and told me enough for me to stay away from it.

Thats very well stated Reb. THe history channel exists for one reason, and one reason only. To pump anti white Christian male propaganda into to minds of the masses.

This actually isn't as inaccurate as it looks. The wife of Ragnar Lodbrok (the main character) was Lagertha the shield maiden. She supposedly was a warrior in her own right. Supposedly the show strives to be accurate and in my opinion is excellent. Its also totally minority free to this point and is VERY pro-white. No black vikings for once. :icon_lol:

Actually kind of surprised that "Vikings" doesn't have its own thread. I am even more surprised that there is a main-stream show allowing white people to be bad-asses. Still shaking my head over that one. Even my teenager commented on it. Still, as the series goes on, I'm sure we'll see castrations/emasculations (both physical and societal) effected by alpha females at the least and of course, duskier types as they hit the Americas. As it gains popularity, the puling masses will demand more equality.

If Hollywood had their way, Morgan Freeman would be playing Odin.

That Ragnar is one bad muther, tho! Like the character.

A bit off-topic. I don't watch HBO's Game of Thrones but came across something about it on the internet the other day. Seems the feminist/homo contingent of our masters is upset because the show has more female nudity than male nudity. One of the whiners mewled that the show has a "male, heterosexual viewpoint" as if that's now a highly objectionable remnant perspective in the "mainstream" media, and likely is from what I can observe.

Yeah its a great show. It turns out that Ragnar's wife's taking place in battles is mostly legendary. Oh well. I guess they just couldn't resist. I understand taking some creative licence just because a ton of information isn't available from that time period, and a lot of aspects of the characters lives are based on legend. In any event its been MOSTLY free of PC nonsense.
