Well, the AAFL just had their draft. You may recognize some of the NFL cast-offs on their rosters:

Alabama:
RB Tre Smith of Auburn
RB/FB J.R. Niklos of Frankfurt Galaxy fame

Florida:
WR Chris Doering of NFL and University of Florida fame

Texas:
QB Eric Crouch of Nebraska
 
I've checked out the website pretty thoroughly. I like what they're about:

- Only 4-year college graduates are eligible
- Players will be mostly allocated to teams in the state where they went to school
- Players can attend grad school in the off-season

etc.
 
Thanks for the info jared. I see that Tony Bua is on the Arkansas team. Nice to see such a great athlete and hard hitter back on the field! I can't wait to see Eric Crouch back in action. I hope Luke Staley gives it a shot.
 
Travis McGriff also made it. just like Col said, let's hope for Staley!
 
sounds pretty sick to me. i hope crouch is near the athletecism he had at nebraska. i wanna see him run all over defenses like the good old days. tre smith domination would be nice troo
