As we found out yesterday an American icon died at the age of 80. While I can't say I am a big country music fan in my opinion her song Jolene is probably her most compelling song while 9 to 5 was her biggest commercial hit that was a number 1 hit on the pop charts. She had such charisma she became a movie star in the early 80's starring 9 to 5 and the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Rhinestone opposite Sylvester Stallone.
Later she became a business woman who started her own theme park and she was world renowned for her charitable work through her Dollywood charitable foundation.
It seems like if she hadn't had declining health in recent years she had no plans to slow down and smell the roses.
