Just a few minutes to discuss three players who at one time or another have been accused by the media of being out of control--code word for not being a white boy scout.
Jason Williams: This guy for some reason has got a lot of grief over the years despite the fact he has been one of the NBA's most entertaining players. Unlike ball hog supreme Iverson, Williams has always been more interested in dropping dimes. The real head shaker is when he was run out of Sacramento due to the lie he was the source of their problems due to out of control play. The media was falling all over themselves proclaiming Bibby was a huge upgrade. Bibby is a solid but very boring performer and several years since the deal the Kings are still stuck in no man's land. In otherwords they should have stuck with Jason . The Kings areonly moderatelyexciting today but back when Jason was running the team they were electrifying and the most entertaining team around. The media was wrong. Bibby was not an upgrade and the Kings and their fans were better off with Jason. Granted he is not the greatest scorer around and given his quickness he should penetrate more often instead of just settling for the three pointer but I have always liked him and the memphis fans are happy to have him. He will likely be traded at some point is my guess.
Bob Sura: Sura was a good but not great college player at ball hog U Florida State. Sam Cassell was a teammate enough said. He has bounced around like crazy and has had a ton of injuries but lately he has been better than ever as an all everything point guard for Houston. After playing best ball of career at Atlanta last year he was quickly dealt to Houston. Started off injured but Houston has come around once he has directed things. Mind you he is playing with a guy who likes to shoot the ball 50 times a a game in McGrady but Sura has been verging on triple doubles and has only gotten better with age. Good athlete. In college media complained he was out of control-heaven forbid a white guy play loose.
Chris Anderson: Speaking of loose this free spirit languished on the Denver bench only to watchCarmelo heist up shot after shot to live up to the hype. Why this quick leaper does not start is a mystery. Not a great offensive threat but a great rebounder and shot blocker and of course crowd pleaser. Now with the Hornets hopefully Crhis will see his playing time expanded and if so his Rodman type game could prove valuable.
All of the above three are free wheeling players who bring energy to the game.
