Steve Nash injured

When Steve Nash went down with an injury in the second quarter, Phoenix came unglued. ``Some people said we needed some adversity to become a good team,'' Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. ``Well there's some adversity for you.''

Nash, who leads the NBA in assists with 11.1 per game and sets the frenetic tempo for the Suns, left early in the second quarter with a bruised left thigh and did not return.

Nash also had his nose bloodied in the first quarter and finished with 11 points in 11 minutes.

``Steve Nash is the motor that makes the car run,'' O'Neal said. ``They have a lot of great athletes (he means black players) and a lot of guys who can score and do special things, but without Steve Nash doing the things he does, it makes it tough for them to score.''

They're obviously holding back great talent in lampe. Hopefully he'll get a trade and be able to play but i'm not holding my breath on it.


And of course they have no Defense without voskuhl in theiranymore.He was the onewho stoped duncan ina few games.

I have to say I'm loving the fact that Phoenix has crashed and burned since Steve Nash went down.I wasn't sure he was getting the respect as the true catalyst of the team.You see Nash running the floor handing out these great feeds to the likes of Shawn Marion who would then proceed to slam it then strut back down the court and act like it's all about him.Well buddy it's about Mr.Nash as we all can clearly see that now and when Steve gets back these homeys better bow to the masuh.praise him profusely and while their at it give him a portion of their salaries.

It's nice that Nash and Kirilenko have gotten a lot of attention
for how badly their teams have played without them. I hope
the Suns and Jazz play great when they come back.

Furthermore, the recent Phoenix nose-dive has really kept the
MVP talk alive for Nash. A lot of victories when he comes back
will keep the fires burning. I never would've imagined before
this season that Steve Nash had a realistic shot at winning an
MVP Award. There were just too many complaints about him
being a "defensive liability", being "unathletic", "too fragile", etc.
He couldn't have garnered the respect to get such a
prestigious award. But now, if the Suns can continue their
excellence when he plays (and their misery when he doesn't,) it
will definitely be possible.

The possible candidates at this point in the season seem to be
Nash, Dirk, Duncan, Ray Allen, and Lebron James. (Any
others?) Garnett, Iverson, and Bryant should be out of the
running because their teams haven't played well enough, and
Shaq hasn't been the best performer on his team, let alone in
the league. One potential complication is how many points
Amare Stoudemire is scoring (fourth in the league,) while the
other players are the top scorers on their teams. That could
influence the voters' thinking. But if Nash is seen as
responsible for much of his team's offense, that could nullify
that to a certain degree. Go Nash and Dirk!

It's great to see Nash getting recognition for his skills and leadership. I remember earlier in his career when he was routinely criticized for various supposed deficiencies. It's somewhat analagous to John Lynch in the NFL, a white star at a "black" position who finally manages to earn near-universal respect after a number of years.
