Thanks Shadowlight for the update on Beard. However, he actually runs around 4.59 40, laser time, which is still really good,

To your point though, there are a lot of guys out there like him. We need to figure out how some guys get D-1 offers and how others do not.

Examples: Ryan Switzer 5'8 170lbs. 4.52, 40 North Carolina
Braxton Berrios 5'9 181lbs. 4.52 Miami


I'm a little off my game right now, but I'm sure there are 100's of white players out there who have similar numbers, but didn't get D-1 offers.

Zach Zenner comes to mind. FCS South Dakota State. Don't know what his HS numbers were, but I'm sure he was worthy of a D-1 FBS scholarship.

North Carolina had white 3 RB's in the top 5 in rushing a few years ago, one had over 3,000 yards and led the state, but only received FCS offers, another went to a D-II school and I have no idea where the other one is.

As stated previously, we need to figure out the answer as to why some get D-1 offers while others do not.

I think it has to do with where a player plays his high school ball. Some schools have great tradition of winning and pumping out D1 prospects.

No doubt that's true celticdb15. I've pointed out that even white players that play for certain schools and have fathers who played in college and NFL get priority, even when they're not that good! Having connections helps also.

Connections is a big thing and like we've talked about exposure at combines and 7on7 tournaments help. Another thing is prospects must look at white friendly schools in the recruiting process.
