This is the biggest problem I have with Christian missionaries. They place too much emphasis on non-White areas like Haiti, Africa, Mexico, etc. When I give to missionaries, it's only to those going to White populaces (Appalachia, Ireland, Russia, etc.). I believe in fufilling the 'Great Commisson", but to my own kind first (& foremost). Many evangelicals would claim I'm "not right"/backslid, but those types are largely weak-knee'd, compromising, z10nist megachurchers. These are the kinds that also harp on the quasi-apostate "social gospel".

I actually think that international aid agencies don't like putting poor White children on posters and in ads because the average Western person doesn't think there are any poor Whites in third world countries. When in fact there are lots in Eastern Europe and pockets in South America and if you consider West Asians and North Africans that are Caucasian as White plenty there too. I do recall seeing when the Iron Curtain fell in Eastern European seeing blonde Nordic looking children in ads and seeing they were from Albania(which was the poorest country in Europe at the time).

I'm glad we're helping white children, but what's striking to me, is that 90% of these kids are WHITE! Why is this? I know this is a site that is in support of our cause, but something's wrong with this picture.

Carolina that's good to hear that your church is active in the community! One thing I need to do more is go volunteer in my own community. Its very sad but hard drugs rip apart families,doesn't matter the race. i have seen this firsthand. A lot of people get side tracked from their ambitions and the economy is not exactly the best. Just a fact of life, African charities would dry up if people knew there were millions of starving Caucasians.

thats probably why it took me a long time to find a copy of this documentary that I saw on IFC once, (came out in 2001, didn't really have steady internet connection then) about these homeless Romanian children that huff paint because it helps with hunger, and I suppose the high helps them cope as well. There were tons of them, some of them very little. I think it was to criticize the anti abortion laws but I don't think that had much to do with it.

the church I go to, they offer collections for Eastern Europeans quite a bit, Im not going to lie and say they don't try to collect for other poor areas but its not neglected.
