I'm aware of the glitches and problems of late. They stem from some advertising that was added to the site earlier this year.

At any rate have some patience. Not all problems can be fixed instantly but I'm working towards a solution.

Its a huge problem that I have been experiencing for months......since nobody was talking about it here at CF I thought I had some sort of virus on my computer. But it happens from my work computer and cell phone as well. Everytime I log on I get a pop-up that says something like "Are You Looking for Caste Football".......and then, even when I 'X' out of the pop-up 8 out of 10 times it will redirect me to some random website. There are days I don't even try because it has become so frustrating......just my 2 cents.

It may have been hacked in a major way. I'm hoping not but I'll know more in the next few days and will keep everyone posted on this thread.

I use Adblock plus and Ghostery and have no problems. According to Ghostery Infolinks, Google and Amazon all run advertising on this site. Out of curiosity I did a search on Infolinks and found this.

Might be worth checking out.

Google removed their ads because of CF's content. Infolinks and Amazon don't seem to have caused any issues. There was another company running ads on the site called Ad-Brite that went out of business earlier this year. When Ad-Brite's ads were replaced with those from another company is when the problems started. But it could be that they were used as a backdoor way for hackers to do damage to the site. I'll know more soon. . .

Hey Don, I have not posted much as of late due to being re-directed to obscure sites and at times the site failing to load up. Due to the recent scandals and truths about the current administration, I began to believe CF was a victim of this soft tyrannical regime such as many TEA parties in which I am a member. These with out a doubt are uncertain times and Amerika is inching towards a tipping point.

Luckily there are enough Americans blowing the whistle on this administration. I hope the problems with site are technical in nature only and not some sinister plan to destroy the site.

Best regards.

Is the site working better (normally)? If you're still having issues, what are they? I need feedback.

Bump!

I'm trying to get the site fixed, but I need feedback on how it's working. Please say if it's working ok now, or if it's not what the issues are.

Hey Don

I am able to access the site via Google Chrome, but have some trouble with Explorer.

Last night I went to the Apple store and was playing around with their top of the line desk top computer. I was able to access the site after a second try. I would not be surprised if google or a number of sites that are providing aid and comfort to the BO administration are attempting to dissuade people from accessing your site.

Don, I know you are attempting to fix the site's issues. Good luck. At least now I am able to access the site and post without several mis-directions.

Well this is the first time I've been able to access the discussion forum in many weeks. Looks to me like some dickweeds are playing games.

It's working fine for me now. The redirection to the porn site was annoying but it hasn't happened to to me in a week or so. Also, there was a large annoying ad that would block half the screen and you couldn't close it however that issue has been fixed as well.

Don

Living in the UK and accessing the site from here I have had no problems, I thought I best let you know in case it maybe a purely American server issue or whatever.

Good luck with the site problems but as i say has been ok for me here in the UK.

The main annoyance for me is that everything is always bunching up in a jumble. For example at the top of the page where is says "New posts, Private messages, FAQ Calender, Quick Links Community Advanced search" will be stacked up on top of each other. Its sometimes impossible to actually click on "new posts" until I refresh the page multiple times. Even then it never gets quite right like it always use to be. Just good enough to get that click finger on the N in New Posts.

How about some more feedback. I've told the site is fixed, need to know if anyone is still having problems. . .

It's too early to tell but it seems to be 100% better now than it has been for the last few months. I hope we haven't lost too many loyal posters. Thanks for having it fixed Don. We need to be ready for preseason NFL football in August. Will let you know if I spot any more problems.

I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I use Mozilla Firefox.

Looks like the malware did originate from the last group of ads that were added to the site a few months ago, though there may still be some stuff embedded that will crop up at some point.

If anyone has any problems with the site, please let me know through pm or posting on this thread. After a few days I'm going to move this thread to Happy Hour and keep it there.

The company that rebuilt Caste Football was very incompetent to put it mildly. They were also supposed to rebuild anu.org and butchered it pretty good. It's really been a nightmare experience dealing with them for the past two years. I've parted ways with them, but am left with various problems such as this recent malware episode. I've had to pay for tech help to fix the problem; now I have to pay more to have CF and my other two sites moved to a new hosting company as well as have the ads taken out and other issues addressed. All of this is going to add up to a lot of money, four figures easily, so if anyone feels moved to make a donation it would really be appreciated.

Anyone else? I would appreciate more feedback.

I had problems all last week and maybe part of the week before - it took ages to load and it even affected other tabs - but it's been back to normal since about the weekend.

CF is working fine for me Don.

I browse from my iPhone multiple times a day. If I log on and look away for second and do not hit discussion forum right away, a site called adking automatically redirects me to the App Store prompting me to download a popular game, Candy Crush.

Don,

I was having problems with the site loading for a while. I don't remember any redirections, but the pages usually wouldn't load for me. I thought the problem was with my "new" desktop computer which is a bit slower than my old laptop, so I didn't say anything about it. I'm glad to see that the site is working better, although it still loads up a tad slow (probably due to my comp).

Site is working much better now. Still getting an occasional random redirect from my mobile devices, but load times are much better, plus no hang-ups or crashes. So, the problems appear to be largely fixed.

When I use my desk icon to connect, which uses Yahoo! the site won't download and the page freezes. I have to re-start my computer. Up till a few days ago Mozilla Firefox wasn't working either. But now Mozilla Firefox seems to be working.

When CF is moved to a different hosting and tech support company shortly they will delete all the "CPM fun ads," which are the source of the troubles, so hopefully any remaining glitches will end when that occurs.

As I mentioned previously in this thread, this has been an unexpected financial hardship, so any donations would be appreciated. I know a lot of you helped get the rebuild accomplished, but I've put a lot of money into Caste Football over the years to keep it a free site and only asked for help one time (for the most recent rebuild), so please remember there's a "Help This Site" link to make a donation to the Cause.
