I dislike Silva, too, but there's no way Machida can be put ahead of Silva. He hasn't beat enough top fighters. I thought Shogun beat Machida, so do many others. GSP, Fedor, and Silva are the clear top 3. In what order, that's up for debate. I'll say GSP, since he's beat the best opposition over the last two or three years.

I think that Mousasi and Rua deserve a spot on the top 10. Mousasi is only 24 and has won 15 straight and has dispatched solid competition effortlessly. But they rank him #6 LHW. Rua dominated PRIDE and de facto defeated Machida, he has had some crummy losses but in true form he is probably better than any other LHW.

Silva being #1 is of course BS. They rag on Fedor's opponents but Silva hasn't really faced anyone other than Henderson. Marquardt is much, much better now than he was in '07. And Rich Franklin isn't that good and fought Silva's fight both times allowing him to counter strike. GSP deserves a higher spot than him at the very least as he has faced much better competition and only has one bad loss in his whole career, and both of his losses he avenged in devastating fashion. These lists are pointless and Sherdog's exists only to hype Silva.

There's a particularly annoying idiot at the gym who makes me angry/laugh/cringe almosteverytime he speaks about MMA (which is often). He, as you might expect, claims very confidently that Silva is the best P4P fighter. He also believes that JonJones is "the new direction of the sport" (whatever that means) and "gets so sick of everybody saying how good Fedor is". He suggested thatthe idea ofFedor being the best in the world (believe he meant even as a heavyweight and not just P4P)was comparable tothe ideathat thebest NFL Europe quarterback was the best quarterback in the world. It goes without saying how absurd this logic is. He went onto imply that all Fedor had going for him was an armbar (guess he's never actually watched a Fedor fight). Hebelieves Fedor is best suited for the middleweight division and even went so far as to say that "Daryl fromThe Office could beat him".

Heresponds, "He's all juiced up though", when someone comments on WWE wrestler Bautista's physique but makes no suchremark when Bobby Lashley is brought up.Most of thesecomments came last night after an extended rant about everything that's wrong withSteelers QBBen Roethlisberger.
