Possibly the best prospect in all of boxing in my opinion. Super skilled. fast with great movement, he reminds me like Usyk

He won World championship Gold in the seniors at a young age.

And is now being fast tracked in the pros. Already ranked 26th on boxrec after 6 pro fights, and still only aged 24.

Almost certain he's gonna be following the footsteps of the Russian dominated light heavyweight division...( Beterbiev and Bivol, and Kovalev before them)

He has an orthodox stance-style but I haven't seen anything suggesting he is a Russian orthodox Christian.

I hope I'm wrong.

He is from a predominantly muslim region.

Can’t say for certain, but would appear more likely he is a Muslim. Not that I think that’s a problem. He’s a solid white fighter.
 
Ataev was tested a bit today but pulled off the win, he's now 10-0. He's the WBA mandatory at light heavyweight.

The fight today against an opponent with an aggressive pro style provided good experience for him - he still has a somewhat amateurish style, but late in the fight he was starting to plant his feet and throw harder, and so hurt his tough Venezuelan opponent.



He may or may not be a Muslim, but he's obviously a white man.
