On April 1, Sergei Lyakhovich - a white Belorussian fighter with the nickname "The White Wolf" - will fight Lamon Brewster for the WBO heavyweight belt. If he wins there could be three white heavyweight champs - WBA champ Nicolai Valuev (who is also fighting in April against Owen Beck), Wladimir Klitschko (fighting IBF champ Chris Byrd on 4/22) and Lyakovich.

or, we could have three black heavyweight champions again.

Whats the consensus on Lyakhovich v Brewster? I'd have to think that Brewster is a heavy favorite.

Valuev hasn't impressed many people, but then again, neither has Owen Beck. Toss up?

I expect Wlad to beat Byrd again, but one never knows these days what kind of odd things might occur.

Owen Beck is small and glass jawed.
He has been knocked down in practically every fight I've seen him in. Valuev will have no trouble with him.

Barring a huge upset Brewster will handily beat Lyakhovich.

In time Lyahkovich could be a better fighter then Brewster. However Lyahkovich has been very inactive. He needed at least one tune up fight before fighting Brewster. Sultan Ibragimov would have been a much better choice to fight Brewster. Edited by: Gary

Wlad, Byrd fight is in Germany so you don't have to worry about the spooks trying something there. As for Lemon Brewster, Notice, he only fights white fighters he knows he can beat. Brewster is a fraud. He only has a title because of foul play. Shady ass Don King will never let his boy Brewster get in the ring with Wlad again. King knows he won't be able to get away with drugging Wlad again. Hollywood marxist Jew Sam Simon Brewsters manager and King were behind the drugging.

Wlad and Valuev should win. Lyakovich is the underdog but could pull off an upset. He has been very inactive though so we'll see. I wish Vitali would come back and clean up the winner of Rahman-Toney.

I also would like to see Vitali come back! Oleg Maskaev deserves a shot at Toney-Rahman. Maskaev's chin is not the best but he beat Rahman when they fought before.
Bunnyman what do you think of the Axel Schulz comeback?Edited by: Gary

I wish Schulz well. I recall how he beat Foreman but got robbed by the judges. He also gave Moorer and Botha good fights. But I don't know if he can hang with the new generation - Dimotrenko, Chagaev, Bidenko, Roth, Ibragimov ...etc. If nothing else he should get one more good payday.

lykavich is a very good fighter and is capable of beating the very beatable brewster, good luck sergei

A picture is worth thousand words.

The black fighter shows up for his press conference in thug attire, complete with sunglasses indoors and the skullie, and his white opponent wears a suit and tie.

Is that a tie-died denim jacket???

You would think a guy with a few million in the bank could afford more than an acid washed jean jacket........

As Don King often says "only in America"!

Just found out the Brewster-Lyakovich fight will be on Showtime during their free preview weekend. So everyone with cable should be able to see this fight. Brewster is the best black heavyweight but Sergei could pull an upset. If he does it is 2 down, 2 to go. And Wlad should take care of Byrd again on April 22. That would leave the mediocre Hasim Rahman as the only black champ at heavyweight.

The weights are in Brewster was 232 a career high Sergei weighed in at 238.5. Brewster was a career high and so was Lyakhovich, but Sergei has the bigger frame. An upset maybe in the works if Sergei can take Brewsters power early..........

As they say in Star Wars,"May the force be with you".Good luck to Sergei tonight. He will be in the fight of his life but he is capable of pulling the upset. He needs to stay mobile and stick & jab.I can't wait to see this fight.Go Lyakhovich!

If he can go deep he can win. If he brawls early he should come up short as Brewster can whack. But Brewster isn't unbeatable as he has been as lucky as he has been good in defending his belt.......

As I have been saying all along, Brewster is a fraud who HAD a title only due to foul play. I Guess king could not drug Lyakhovich.

Sergei didn't fold under Brewsters late pressure. He completely outboxed him from the outset, from all accounts it was a great fight.........
