It's about time the English renewed their once-great tradition in sprint. And now they've got the runner to do it. Ryan Gorman, less than a year after taking up running as a sport, clocked an INDOOR 200m faster than Usain Bolt could run OUTDOORS at the same age. And, oh, yeah, Gorman didn't even have blocks.

Here's hoping to see many Olympic 200 finals coming down to a lean at the tape between Ryan Gorman and Simon Schutze someday.

Some of the comments make me mad after the article but this kid is the real deal. Let's just hope he stays interested in athletics and remains healthy. What a find trackster!

Showler-Davis is running for Florida State. Sam Watts is running primarily the 200 meters for TCU.

Here is another great article on the "wonderkid" Ryan Gorman. What an incredible talent.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-2302028/Ryan-Gorman-faster-Usain-Bolt.html

from the story:
"Since word began to spread of Ryan’s spectacular performance in Birmingham, the Gormans have smiled at naysayers suggesting a white English sprinter will never make it. Their son was born in Botswana, after all, and the family moved to Derbyshire when he was 20 months old. Lee was born in Sheffield but grew up in South Africa and his wife also has African roots: she was born in Zimbabwe but moved to the UK when she was two."

Um, they have "African roots"? The reporter is so freaked out by it, he's lost his mind. Yeah, those "African roots" must be the source of the kid's upside. He's fast because his parents were born on the continent from which all upsides, hip-swivels, bursts, explosiveness, wrist-flicks, and room-brightening smiles originate.

Ryan Gorman does it again and he breaks Bolts Youth Age Record with out even using starting blocks. Simply incredible how
fast this kid is and what he just might be capable of someday. I just hope he continues to progress rapidly and stays hungry
with his work ethic and his love of athletics.

Unless he gets onto PEDs like the rest of the best sub 10 and 20 heroes, he'll always be a regional champ and he'll never see a cent of that blazing glory.
