Anti-Semitic remark bans singer from Yankee Stadium
Singer Ronan Tynan apologized today for making anti-Semitic remarks that may have gotten him banned from performing "God Bless America" at Yankee Stadium, according to a report by NBCNewYork.com. The remark reportedly was made when Tynan ran into an apartment hunter in his East Side building. Told the potential tenants were not Red Sox fans, Tynan replied, "I don't care about that, as long as they are not Jewish," the apartment hunter, Gabrielle Gold-von Simson told NBC New York. Tynan admitted to making the comment but said it was all in jest, Howard Rubenstein, the Yankees publicist, told NBC New York. The Yankees canceled Tynan's appearance at tonight's ALCS opener, the report says.
