Discussion on him here:

http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=481205&page=13

Boxrec isn't even ranking him now. He's supposed to be fighting some small exhibition soon. And he just got nabbed for some dinky DUI charge. Is all his potential going to be wasted, like happened with Boytsov? This isn't right. The old timers used to fight very frequently, not once every year or two.

Helenius charged with DUI.

https://www.seiska.fi/Rikos/Robert-Helenius-charged-with-DUI-I-tripped-under-pressure/1039594

"Helenius’s star has been fading rapidly ever since his contract troubles with Team Sauerland started last year. He has not fought for over a year and is currently holding various sponsorship negotiations. The DUI charge will surely not help with his career prospects.

However Robert assures that this will not signify the end of his career. He is currently preparing for a fight and claims to be in the best shape of his life..."

Why should a baloney charge like that "signify the end of his career"!?

Robert Helenius, Return Targeted For May 3 in Berlin

By Per Ake Persson

Heavyweight Robert Helenius (19-0, 11KOs) will, if all works out, return in Berlin on May 3rd. The Nordic Nightmare sparred with Kubrat Pulev last week and is said to have looked good but it will of course be some time before he´s back to where he was before the Dereck Chisora fight. The May card is headlined by WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham, who will defend his world crown against Nikola Sjekloca.

He hasn't fought since March 2013. Here's a video of him I just came across. He shows up at ~ 5:00. I have no idea what they are saying, or what is wrong with his voice.

Helenius' June 13th entrance. I like the viking theme!

Wow good fight. Helenius was so promising at one point. I think he can come back. He's not a china chin like Price over in England. Just depends upon if he still wants to keep going at this point.

Helenius/Duhaupas was a war of attrition. Duhaupas/Wilder should have gone the distance but ref was there to help Wilder's record; Duhaupas feeling pretty good about himself before match; Helenius needing some skill re-set. To be fair, both are gate keepers and not serious challengers to Fury who would make their heads spin with his skill.

I think personal issues and contractual problems have ruined Helenius. I have seen this before with Tim Witherspoon in the 80's who was put on ice by King because he questioned what he was getting paid by King.

A world class athlete can't sit around for a couple years and expect to retain the skills he had before the inactivity.

I expect Duhaupas to get an eliminator or a voluntary defense out of this win. He is probably just not quite good enough to beat the Martin vs Joshua winner but he should give them rounds and not roll over die like many paper contenders.

Helenius fights Airich today in Finland. Airich is a Khazak who has been in with many top fighters. I don't think there will be any way to see this one.

Helenius won by first round KO. Excellent! Chimpsora did too. A rematch between them would now be good.

Helenius has my favorite entrance of any fighter, by far.

But was the punch legit?

Right to the body away from the camera (or phone camera?). You can hear the impact.

I think if Helenius wants to do anything more in his career he should move to L.A or Vegas or maybe Germany. It doesn't look like Finland has much for facilities.

Okay I googled Helenius and found he has already done the Germany thing. Maybe he should try somewhere in the U.S.? But stay away from the Don King types.

If u r on facebook look up joeboxinsceneboxer. He posted a longer version of this fight, tho the ko punch is still hidden. he also has a vast collection of fight videos. so now helenius is back on track to go right to the top which i was predicting before. he's my favorite boxer. i love the viking theme.
