Many times it's been mentioned in the CasteFootball Baseball thread that Latino/Mestizo/Mexican/Afro-caribbean players get all sorts of extra attention and second chances, at the expense of White players. There are hundreds of examples in the thread, and there's one more today from that most hideous of franchises, Peter Angelos's Baltimore Orioles.
The Orioles the past ten years have really specialized in trotting out fatally-flawed, career minor-leaguers, giving them an Orioles jersey, and torturing fans as they stink up the American League. Finally today after four months of such torture, the O's demoted to AAA a beast named "Radhames Liz" a right-handed pitcher who lost lots of games, looked permanently lost on the hill, had era of almost 8, and couldn't control anything. But because of his pigment, this permanent minor leaguer got about eight tries. He utterly sukked (as do the Orioles in general), and finally the "organization" had to admit that the fellow isn't up to snuff.
No doubt we will see Mr. Liz again soon. The guy just grabs a ball and flings it toward the catcher. Remember the excellent White sportscaster who reminded us of Mestizo batters who "hack at slop" and stike out frequently? Same with many Mestizo pitchers. There's no technique whatsoever. They throw the ball toward home plate, sometimes really hard.
Won't be sad to see Mr. Liz go. But O's will undoubtedly overlook a half-dozen excellent White AAA and AA prospects and treat us to another Dominican who will deliver walks, runs, and losses
